Michelin PS4S Star Spec

The new BMW M cars are equipped with a custom PS4S (similar to the PSS star spec we have on the Supra and various older BMWs).
There's quite a few changes they made to the PS4S that would make it a compelling tire to use on the Supra and they do have it in our factory sizes.
I might give these a try when they become available in a few weeks

Thanks for the video. I do find it interesting that the video author claims that he first production tire from these tests were produced in mid 2020. But BMW had vendor specific PS4S a year before that on certain models including the X3M. So then did BMW have multiple concurrent programs going on with this tire, are the other earlier ones just an OEM copy or was he wrong on his dates.

I never did. I sold my Supra early this year for a GR86.
On the Supra I experienced PSS, Apex V601, A052 and Indy500 tires. All 4 tires actually work well on the street, surprisingly the A052s had the most luxurious and quiet street ride, and also offered the most peak grip on track. For value, I think the V601s have my money.

My PSS are about 1mm away from the wear bars, and I’m 90% sure I’m going to try the PS4S star specs this time. I’m still debating between 255/275 and 265/285 though.

Cool, let us know impressions if you pull the trigger? I'm waffling between the Advan Apex V601s and this PS4S star variant.

Sadly, I got a puncture and had to get what was available on short notice. Discount Tire was able to get the standard PS4S for me in a couple of days, but the star specs were showing the rears as being “discontinued”. The employee suspected it was a mistake, but I had to make a choice of waiting until he could call on Monday (puncture happened over the weekend), or just order up the standard PS4S. I went with the latter, as I need to take a road trip next week.

So far so good on the regular PS4S though. Looking forward to seeing how they feel at autox, and dialing in the best tire pressure.
