Someone had a thing for my right mirror. Got online and ordered the two parts. When they arrived, instead of the gloss black they were textured back.

They were ordered again and again came in textured black vs. gloss black. After some persistence they finally said they need to be painted.

I don’t think that’s the correct answer. As the part numbers inside are different. I ordered again for the third time and got the same end result. All of the boxes look like they have been around the world a few times which I suspect

Does anyone have any input to this. As I’m not making any headway with the parts guy.

My stock mirror caps were textured. Yours are gloss?

The OEM mirror caps on all 3.0 models are textured black, and the OEM caps on the 2.0 are gloss black.

The catalog shows TWO different part numbers for each cover on a MY21 2.0, and I'd have to call Toyota to find out why.

Numbers are 87915-WAA12 OR 87915-WAA14 for the RIGHT side, and 87945-WAA12 OR 87945-WAA14 for the LEFT side.

The oem ones are more of a satin black finish… as seen on my ā€˜21 3.0

Which part of the mirror is it specifically, I had the same exact issue with mine where someone hit my mirror and I had to go through an ordeal to get it fixed.

This is what mine look like when I bought it.
The cap is still low sheen original but now the entire mirror is now textured black. I do have the 3.0 Premium with drivers assist.

What I took off and what I got 3 times is textured black. The numbers inside the mirror are very different then the replacement ones.

The parts manager even came out and looked at what I have and said that they were OEM and correct for my vehicle. As the 3.0 Premium came that way.

His only suggestion was to either live with the finish and buy the parts for the other side of have them painted gloss black.

I only have 5K on the car and it’s in my drive way 99.99% of the time. Except when I use the neighbors drive but they are gone 9 months of the year. I’m not sure where the damage occurred but the mirror was wiped out for sure. I’m guessing someone may have tried to use the neighbors drive too and did it then. It’s not like you can’t notice it.

87948-WAA02 Cover, Outer Mirror Hole LH
87941-WAA01 Cover, Outer Mirror LH

The above parts are what should be gloss black but arrived as textured black.

I conceded and just bought the LH side and they arrived today as noted by the part numbers above. Both boxes came sealed. The cap portion was not damaged on the RH side just the portion on the bottom and the portion that fits around the mirror glass. All else was good and no damage

Not happy with it but it’s done now. The total out of pocket was 27.48 for each side.
