MR2 spins @ The Ridge

Back story: my instructor was driving my car during group A lapping. Since group A has open passing w/ point by’s, my instructor was trying to let the MR2 by since he was on our bumper for a few corners. The MR2 didn’t have the power to pass even with my instructor lifting off, and it led to the MR2 going too wide on that corner and he spun his car. From my perspective, my instructor could have yielded the inside line on this corner or attempted to let him by sooner on the track to prevent this from happening.

Thankfully, everyone was okay in addition to the MR2. Definitely needed new underwear after this one!

Not a Corvette.
It's the passing cars responsibility to determine their comfort level. People can point by in odd places when pressured. I have waved off point-bys many times in the past because of this.

That said, we all can sometimes make not perfect decisions since we are human, MR2 got lucky on this on, that flag station got pretty close!

Yeah, thankfully they were able to stop in time before hitting the barrier as well. MR2 made it out with a messed up alignment and that’s about it!
