Congrats! In the beginning my brakes squealed all the time. I followed a bedding in procedure and now they only squeal when I first get in the car and a little in the rain. But it may take some more miles for me for it to fully go away. I put about 1500 miles on my car on my drive back from NY, but that was all highway. Now that I'm doing mostly city driving, I'm sure most of the brake squeal will go away, but I think its reasonable to expect some squeal.

And I recommend coding your car to get rid of the active sound design, that'll greatly improve the sound quality before you can dig deeper into the Tadda fix. I did that on my first day of ownership and it made a huge difference. I travelled with my OBD bluetooth adapter and after taking delivery of the car, I basically coded all my options and then hit the road.

Damn. That's brave to code your car before even driving it. I will look into the coding process as well.

Could you detail the bedding process? The brake squeal is my biggest annoyance at this time.

Brake bedding procedure seems to be very subjective depending on who you ask, but I mostly followed this procedure:

You might be limited on the roads you have available to do swift decelerations.

And for the coding, I wasn't as worried as you would think. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on the steps and procedures and no one has had any adverse issues from coding. Just don't lose power to the car, but once you keep your seatbelt on inside, you're fine. I had more issues telling my wife not to open the door or touch anything inside for about 15 minutes lol. And I didn't code anything that no one else hasn't coded already. So it was pretty low/zero risk.

My only fear with coding iss that it voids the factory warranty so if anything genuinely goes bad I might not be eligible for free replacement because I changed some sound settings..

You know, I made peace with the factory audio system. It sounds pretty good if you tune the EQ and just not turn it up so loud. I also turned off the fake engine tone via Bimmercode.

No it won't void anything. Its not like ECU tuning. I had to take mine into my local dealership after my road trip home because the selling dealer didn't activate my navigation. They had to redo the PDI process to activate it and there was no issues with the coding. And all my coded options were still intact after the PDI. Its more like unchecking hidden boxes in the existing software I think. But I had no dealer issues.

And you might be giving the dealership too much credit. My service manager said he liked the exhaust I put on it. I was like "huh?, Its the factory exhaust". LOL! But I have the car coded to start in sports mode so he probably thought it was an aftermarket exhaust I guess.

Maybe the BMW dealers are hip to coding. But for the most part, if you're coding you're just enabling options that are already baked into the software. If you do something experimental and brick that car, then yeah, I can see that voiding the warranty.
