Had a screw in the same spot, thick part of the tread. Pulled it and it was not long enough to go through. Just for info, a punctured tire that is just patched from the inside will expose the belts in the tire to the elements, which over time can corrode and weaken the tire.

Took it to the goodyear, I had to ask a few questions and mention the factory torque spec for the lugs but overall quicker and easier than the dealership and they were careful with it. Now I have a tire shop I can trust. Thanks guys.

Ps. I took mine to local shop where it looks sketchy but handles McLarens, etc.
I've often found these to be the best shops! The place I take the Supra for any major work is like this as is the body shop I use. I'm a prude and it took me a while to get past it.

Lo and behold after driving through yet another long stretch of construction I found a nail in my driver side front tire, ironically after posting about it yesterday. There’s no air pressure loss right now and I drove on it a little before realizing it was there.

I’d like to take it to a toyota service center tomorrow since they’re closed today. However it seems they never have any sports car tire in stock whether it’s for the 86 or Supra and always take an hour to tell me they need to order one that will arrive later, so I was thinking of ordering the tire ahead of time online (I don’t have the tire/wheel warranty ?). I thought about taking it to a local tire shop but I trust the ones here less than the dealers based on experience.

Thoughts on this plan? Should I just wait to see what they say tomorrow? If it can be patched, will patching the tire prohibit driving at higher speeds?

I had the same thing happen to me. My rear tires were shot so i decided to replace both rear tires. I lifted the car by myself pulled the rear wheels off took them to a local tire shop. Make sure you tell them to not break the seal of the tire anywhere near the TPMS. I know this seems like common sense but common sense isnt so common anymore. Once they installed and balanced the new tires, i put the wheels back on. Torqued to the recommended spec. At first, i was getting an error that said "tire not detected" so i reset the TPMS and the alert cleared.
