Soooooo, wrecked the Supra and it needs body work and who knows what else... at least the doors, hood, and hatch open easily with no apparent problems. Caliber Collision in Vacaville say that can't do the aluminum work or figure out how to re-establish power after the battery went dead. Does anybody have a recommendation for a body shop that can do the potential aluminum work and knows a bit about the BMW/Toyota workings of the Supra. I live in Vacaville and I'm willing to take it pretty much anywhere in the Bay Area/Sacramento area.

Bags went off and insurance didn’t total it..?

Go with who ever the insurance company says.
No, not totaled. The airbag going off automatically totaling a vehicle is just a generality. In the end it's all about cost to repair vs. replacement plus scrap value.

And I did take it to the place State Farm suggested and the repair facility told State Farm that they currently don't have aluminum repair capability. So, State Farm called me and asked where I'd like it taken. I also reached out to my racing series track club and they've given me a good place to take it that specializes in aluminum repair and can probably figure out the BMW/Toyota vehicle management systems.

Hey there, glad you're okay! I only go to this shop for my cars.

http://arianaautobody.com/

Omar and his family are big car guys, GTR, Porsche, Mercedes certified shop. I can vouch for their quality of work, they aren't cheap but they have the quality. They are located in Newark.

If you do decide to go there, let them know Jon with the white FD sent you or you can PM me if you go and i can make a call ahead of time.

Thanks for the suggestions! The guys over at Speed SF Track Events, who seem to host the largest collection of Supra's I've seen at any of the California track days (NASA included), recommended B & S Hacienda Auto Body in Pleasanton. I emailed them last night and I had a reply by 8:10am... by 4:00pm they had my car relocated 65miles to their facility and already started disassembling the Supra and sent me a pretty comprehensive working estimate prior to the inspection underneath. Depending on what they find underneath the estimate is already at [gulp] $31K. I'm guessing the cut-off point is going to be roughly $40-45K before State Farm calls it totaled and the difference will be made up selling it to salvage. That's provided they consider the value to be $50-$56K still ( it stickered for $56,745)

Good call on contacting SpeedSF. Sounds like you'll have a result soon.
