The only “swaying” I remember being uncomfortable with was on the 285/35/19 MT ET Streets. I have generally felt more in control since going to a 17” setup- but suspension, alignment, tire psi, temps, surface type all have an effect also.

I’m making a lot more power since posting… usually running pretty low psi in the rear now and have gotten so used to the floating/swaying sensations that I honestly don’t think about it anymore. It's funny how you can get used to certain things for the sake of performance lol
You are sooo right. I have lowered my pressure to 20 psi and now don’t notice the sway anymore or have learned to ignore it. Like you, being able to put my 650whp to the ground is more important and fun. Next year I'll be turning her up to 800whp and I don't know of any other tire on the market that will hook with that kind of power on the street.

As others have mentioned, tire pressure and an alignment will solve any "sway" issues anybody might have with Mickey Thompson S/S tires. I have never had an issue with mine and they are unmatched for straight line performance

Mickey Thompson Et street r is about the only thing your going to get hooking on the street at 800 whp. Also if you’re using the car on the street I wouldn’t go past 650 cause it makes the car less fun imo but it’s ultimately up to you.

Taller sidewall always give better traction. It’s the same reason guys go to a 15 inch rim with 60 series sidewall. I make 9xxhp on the street on a 305/45/17, but all my suspension has been done. It still doesn’t hook sometimes depending on my road conditions and how warm I got the tires before I made a pull. Also it depends on your tuner and traction control devices you may have. Even with my traction control on I can blow the tires off if I don’t roll on the pedal just right. Good luck and stay safe.
