So I'm recently custom tuned on an E40-E50 mix and my car can no longer get any form of traction in 1st through 3rd on the factory rear tires, so I bought a set of Nitto 555r2's in 285/35/19s for the rear, stock wheels. I wanted to get everyone's opinions on keeping the stock 255/35/19s on the front, whether you think it will cause Traction Control issues, handling issues, etc etc. I usually just daily this car, the majority of my "spirited" driving is usually on short straight bursts but occasionally I will take a turn decently quick, not dangerously quick though.

Things to note is I will be keeping the factory wheels, that's why I'm trying to retain the 255/35/19 front tires if possible, they only have 4,000 miles on them, but if people more knowledgeable than myself recommend changing tire sizes, I will most likely grab a set of PS4S's in 265/35/19 for the fronts.

I would think keeping the fronts would be fine and not cause any issue since power is in rear, but I am not a tire expert by any means. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in here. I have 295 on rear and still spin through 3rd and have even broke loose in 4th regularly. I wish I went 305 but not sure how much of a difference it will help with. Good luck with getting an answer from a solid source.

I have pushed the 255 PSS tires to their limits they’re good tires for the front.

If your zipping along at 145 mph they’re stable and keep you straight.

It really depends on how you plan to use the car, autocross, track events or 1/4 mile runs?

I will be going to the 265 PS4S once the 255s wear out just because they fill out the wheel well a little better. Anything wider than the 265s and the front will follow every rut and crack in the road.
