The stock wheels are pretty meh... But like most things like that, they do look a lot better in person, IMO. With the factory alignment the high offset is not doing them any aesthetic favors either. I do prefer these wheels to the optional snowflake/trident wheels.

Low wing is definitely not for me! The Z51 wing is fine but the look of the high wing has grown on me a LOT so will probably go that route along with some side skirts.

I didn't realize they offered black tips as a new option in '23. I still prefer the original since the contrast from the black trim works for me. Another side benefit is if you track the car, the tips will heat-blue:

Overall a very good looking ride. However, i can’t bring myself to overlook two issues I have with the C8. One, the center console. I know the corvette has always been a driver focused interior set up. That’s not the issue. It’s the controls that run up the….well whatever the F@$k you call it. IMO GM should have kept it all on the touch screen. Second, the steering…square? Maybe best offering that thing as an option (or maybe it is?).

Has anyone been able to crack the ecu on the C8?

Procharger and some others are offering calibrations with their setup so the doors are slowly opening.

Are they still running into trans controller issues with these? Ive seen a few boosted setups with the only setback being limp mode with the trans controller.

Congratulations on that ride! If not for the markups, I'd be driving one. I like everything about the C8.... absolutely everything.

Thanks! It's a truly amazing sports car...

I placed myself on a waitlist with MacMulkin, who is the largest Corvette Dealership in the USA...They only sell at MSRP with no doc fees and also provide price-protection against any price increases while waiting...I submitted my build and waited 9 months and ended up getting my C8 for $3000 less than current MSRP due to price-protections....They also setup a courtesy delivery to a dealership here in Tucson...The whole process was very smooth...I would purchase from them again in a heartbeat!

Love the Vette! Legit question y’all might know. Me and two Vettes were running about the same times at Sebring this last weekend (one current model the other a Z06 prior model). We’d follow each other, not race, just watching each others lines/approach at different corners, entry and exit speeds. I know there are tons of variables for setup, seat time, etc. for making up time in the corners. But my stablemate partner asked me how much horsepower I had. He was shocked that he was unable to pull away from me in the straights (or catch me when I was in front). He wanted to know my hp and told me he was 600+ hp. I said I might be up to 430 hp (guessing with a catless dp and custom Jesse JB4 tune). I’m getting this question more often. So…..

How can there be that much difference in hp, both Corvettes (some Porsches) yet not strongly pulling away in the straights? I told him I have to be carrying more exit speed. But he showed me his data and we’re both very similar at the same spot we were comparing. ?‍♂

Thanks in advance and apologies for slightly off topic. ✌? Love this thread and the Vette ? ? Still considering one or a Porsche or another Supra for the wife. Looking for least computer ”troubles” with a few mods. But that’s a completely different subject ?

^^Way too many variables..

My personal experience with my own cars at my home track, Carolina Motorsports Park:

2021 Supra 3.0 Premium - Intake, AMS catted downpipe, SPL front lower control arms, track alignment, Endless MX72 brake pads and fluid, Bridgestone RE71RS 200TW - 1:44.3

2022 Corvette HTC Z51 3LT - 100% stock/original, GM track alignment, Castrol SRF - 1:44.4

2019 Corvette Z06 2LZ M7 - 100% stock/original, Castrol SRF - 1:42.7

It took me 3-4 sessions in a bone stock C8 to match my best in the Supra that I had been running all year and on a 200TW. Obviously I'm comfortable and confident in the Supra and am still feeling out the C8. I've been running with other C8s and they're faster than me in the Supra everywhere on track. When I ran the Roval a C8 was able to walk right past me on a point by with me staying WOT and put a few bus lengths on me before we had to brake to enter the chicane. The c8 is much more composed and confidence inspiring everywhere on track. The Supra is super sketchy in comparison.

I took my C7 Z06 out 100% showroom stock/original, no track alignment, original tires, etc.. and after 3 sessions was already ~1.5 seconds faster. This is with me still being super conservative (scared!) and in the lower PTM (nanny) modes trying to feel the car out. It is scary fast in comparison. I was planning on running the C8 again but couldn't source brake pads in time so decided to run the C7 for the hell of it. Absolute unit on track and will be my primary in 2023 with the C8 secondary. Retiring the Supra as a result.

Indeed ☝

The only difference on my Supra from yours, that I can tell, is the custom JB4 tune, sway bars (front and rear) and every SPL part. The straights were honestly the only thing we were trying to figure out. I was quicker in turns 3, 4, and 5 at Sebring for example, and he was hauling ass in turns 11, 12 and 13. Different drivers, cars and setups, I do get it… but mashing the gas pedal on a straightaway is another thing. His comment and mine was just pure surprise how well the Supra would hang in our 2 biggest straights at Sebring. I remember seeing some “baby Yaga” (forgive my spelling) videos somewhere on this forum and thinking that was a setup. Hence his videos. No one would believe his Supra was beating (or keeping up with in my case) a far more expensive or bigger hp car. That kinda what we were doing. Not by intention but just coming out of a turn onto a straightaway.

Again, I absolutely love the Vette! Just wondering if it’s a torque, gearing and/or JB4 thing?

Short answer is the b58 FI torque. It is all instant and available
Compare torque curves and you will see visually.

My supra is seconds a lap faster on the VA tracks I run with c8s and equal to a good driver in A c7 z06. The c7 ZR1 is the one car I have no answer for. IMHO it is basically the pinnacle of front engine rear wheel drive.

I will be interested in follow ups from AHP and his track experience.
A lot of my friends w c8s do NOT like them that track often. They go through brakes and tires like crazy and the brake by wire is garbage. They all LOVE them on the street but we have several that now leave them home and drive other things on the track.
