Thanks and was expecting torque to be a big part. The low end grunt is insane! Coming from a S2K where you rev the crap out of her and need that VTEC, Iām nowhere near redline in this car on track. The c7 guy said he overheats in summer. But to Chevyās credit, they are going to buy him a bigger radiator. Iām not going to push the Supra past April down here. But again, starting to believe the baby Yaga videos are real!Short answer is the b58 FI torque. It is all instant and available
Compare torque curves and you will see visually.
My supra is seconds a lap faster on the VA tracks I run with c8s and equal to a good driver in A c7 z06. The c7 ZR1 is the one car I have no answer for. IMHO it is basically the pinnacle of front engine rear wheel drive.
I will be interested in follow ups from AHP and his track experience.
A lot of my friends w c8s do NOT like them that track often. They go through brakes and tires like crazy and the brake by wire is garbage. They all LOVE them on the street but we have several that now leave them home and drive other things on the track.
Consumables are where Iām really impressed. With a square setup, my Maxxis tires are cheap, the Hawks pads seem to last forever, and I just bought affordable rotors on Amazon. So yeah, happy as a pig in shit with this platform so far. Was curious about the C8 consumables. So thatās good to know. And I know my Porsche friends pay a pretty penny every time they go out on track.
Not everyone cares about that however. A friend I went to college with ordered two new Z06s just to track. They are cheaper than the Ferraris he was tracking. So itās all about personal perspective for sure.
