JARAMA RACETRACK EDITION Arrives July
My Supra is one year old and has done 6300 miles. For peace of mind, I wanted to change the oil. Just been quoted £375 for an oil change WOW!!! Apparently, 7 litres of the Gazoo racing 0w20 oil, is £315. What makes the oil so special and expensive or is it just because it says Gazoo racing on the label. In comparison Castrol EDGE Professional LL IV FE 0w-20 (VAG) Fully Synthetic Engine Oil is £191.94 for 7 litres &
Millers Oils EE Performance 0w-20 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil is £68.94. I don't want to cheap out on oil, but feel like I'm getting ripped off.

I think you're getting ripped-off...
My latest oil change in March (from the dealer) did cost 114,95euro (+- 100gbp)
The mechanic took an hour working on it for 55euro/hour (47gbp/hour).

LiquiMoly 5w30 Special Tec is a fantastic oil for this car.

Do you not have your first couple of free oil changes from the dealer?
Afaik that isn't standard in Europe.

We don't get those in the UK that I've heard of, I certainly didn't :(

This does appear to be the dealer pricing across the board for an oil change in the UK, if you go to the toyota servicing website and plug your reg and mileage in: https://www.toyota.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-aftercare/service-mot-maintenance

If you're near them, Whifbitz quoted around £240, of which only £90 is labour, and £150 oil and filter. Unsure if that labour cost was inclusive of VAT.

Auto Torque quoted around £320 with VAT, using 0w-20 Shell Helix Ultra. I've been meaning to speak to Garage D as well.

On the choice of oil point, reading that mega oil thread elsewhere on the forum left me with no clear idea of whether there was truly any benefit of going for a heavier oil. The "GR" oil is almost certainly marked up though, you can get the same or better spec in the same weight from other manufacturers for a bit cheaper.

@zrk what's your take on different oils? :D

Buy LiquiMoly Top Tec 6600 0w20 and the filter online and then take the car to the dealer and have them do the oil change if you don´t want to do it yourself and/or are worried about the car being under warranty.
That is what I did with my car. A lot cheaper than paying for Toyotas marked up oil and filter.

No included oil change in Europe.

I'm in germany but I guess that's similar price-wise. Toyota quoted me yesterday 275,66 € just for 6,5l of oil . This is madness
I hope they will accept to use Castrol or Liqui Moly. I care about oil, but not if it is to be robbed.

Just a thought as i can see its easy for me to get 0-20w liquimoly 6600 on amazon.

Usually i wouldnt do this but im wondering if people disagree and maybe im being a bit anal.

But.
Thoughts on using liquimoly 6600 as a top up? (Dealer put GR oil in when i bought it from toyota at 10k)

I have done 2k since the oil change and am starting to wonder what i will actually do when that light comes on.
