Pure 850 vs 900 experiences?

I have spent a long time researching but really can't find much out there online about the pure 900. I have an MT on MHD and am going DI setup with s58 injectors. I am at 550whp now with goals of around 650-700 on E. I feel the fueling will probably be maxed out before either size turbo so to me it would make the most sense to get the 850. I have been told to just get the 900 as it isn't much different but will give more headroom in the future. I like that the 900 is a standalone unit however it seems like some aftermarket intakes won't fit since they are marketing pure 900 specific intakes? CES just marketed a pure 900 manual with port injection making in the 800s. I think anything around 750 or above is playing with fire unless you build the motor so maybe another point for the 850? Thoughts appreciated!

If your target is 700whp or less, the Pure 850 is the smart choice.

The Pure 900 makes sense if:
  • You plan to go PI soon
  • You're aiming for 750–800+whp long-term

700 on e isnt a stretch with the base new casting pure 800, especially on a manual car - much less the 850 or 900

If your goals are 650-700, then I would suggest the Pure 800, it will be more responsive.

*IF* you want headroom for the future but want to stop at 750, then 800 or 850 will work, with 850 offering more headroom.
