What are the correct screws/bolts for the rear license plate?

Mine just came with philips screws.. was it supposed to come with something different?

Any coarse thread screw. The license plate bracket is plastic and unthreaded.

I use something like this with the brass threaded inserts. No chance of a self-tapper going into your trunk if you overtighten.

Believe it or not the dealer used these two screws which almost went into the bumper, not to mention they are all rusted out.

I found what appears to be a front license plate kit in the glovebox and the short screws at the bottom fit perfectly (and being all black, blended well.)

Problem solved.
