If you read the fine print, it essentially updates the minimum brightness you can set it to to be brighter. Not sure if that is sketchy wording or what.

Apparently what happens is the camera and display settings can be adjusted so the rearview image isn’t visible and then the system will remember that setting the next time the car is put in reverse. You lose the backup picture, effectively.

Had mine done yesterday. Picking it up today or tomorrow. First MKV serviced at this particular dealer, so they were stoked lol.

if you read the remedy I think it's only fixing the lowest brightness setting so that it'll actually show something on the screen vs a complete blank screen.
Wishful thinking that it'll improve the overall brightness, but I do not see that happening, at least with the description that we've got...

My back up and headunit are bright enough and look good. I’m going to leave it alone.
