So my very helpful Service team at my local Toyota dealership after much confusion and lots of phone calls and have clarified the the Service Interval on my 2022 Supra 3.0T Pro is max every 2 years as per the Service schedule indicator displayed on my Dashboard or depending on driving style maybe less as per BMW (my car had its first service the start of February 2023 and now shows next service due February 2025)
Now they also stated it also requires a 6 monthly ā€œHealth Checkā€ at Ā£75 a time however no one can say definitively Why ?
On searching Toyotas UK Website Iā€™ve since learned this is only for the GR Yaris see * in screenshot below
So whatā€™s your understanding UK Supra owners ???

Hi,

I'm still confused by the topic, so much conflicting information. I posted this thread - https://www.supramkv.com/threads/uk-servicing-schedule.15924/ -

Prior to buying a Supra. Since bought a car which was last serviced in Sept 22, car says next service is Sept 24, but the dealer I bought it from said I need to service it Sept this year if I want to keep my warranty. Yet Toyota say if the service sschedule is every 2 years, then the car will get a 2 year warranty at the time.

Anyway, take a look, see what you can make of it and let me know if you get a straight answer.

2 things Just before I read it, did you buy your car from a Toyota Main Dealer ? And was you told 2 yearā€™s intervals by a different Toyota Main Dealer?

Does anyone have a copy electronically of the Toyota Supra Warranty Booklet (I donā€™t) section that is supposed to clarify this ???
My take is that weā€™re on the ā€œCondition based Serviceā€ plan where itā€™s 2 years/ 20K miles unless driving style reduces this, this is in line with a 5 series BMW I owned.
Like you guys my only concern is protecting the warranty, Iā€™m never going to Track or Launch the car and only expect to cover 4-5K miles per year

No, the car tells me 2 year intervals, but dealer told me every year.

No, but you can find the "10 year warranty" information I screenshotted here. Section 6b

https://www.toyota.co.uk/content/da...ranty/toyota-warranty-ts-and-cs-june-2022.pdf

"Customers whose vehicles have a 24-month service interval are required to get their vehicle serviced every 24 months instead of every 12 months, can gain additional 24 months/20,000 mile (whichever comes first) warranty from each Service, every two years, until the 10- year/100,000-mile (whichever comes first) limit is reached."

Does that mean my car got a 2 year warranty when serviced in Sept 2022 even though it was only 2 years old?

I had a chat with Toyota service/sales managers about this and their story wasā€¦ (god knows if they knew what they were talking about!!)

All Toyotas have a 1yr service interval other than the Supraā€¦

When new they have a 5yr warranty and this is fine with the 2yr interval.

The extended period from 5-10 years is based on a 1 yr service interval so the Supra does not fit into this which means that during year 2 of a service period you have no warranty. BUT, once you do get it serviced at the end of the 2nd year you get your warranty back again for another year..

If what they said is true, itā€™s bloody confusing!

Edit:

** This may even applied to the first 5 years as my one is sept 2019 and I just bought it recently so not sure what applied over the first few years.. .

I gave up trying to figure this out, I'm just gonna bring the bugger in once a year. If you're planning to keep it long term it's worth splashing the cash for frequent oil change, so look as it's a reputable dealership. Bring yours to Macclesfield Toyota, pretty good Supra representation there.
I took it in after 2 months 1200 miles for a break-in oil change and they we're so confused they thought I was an idiot lol

How blinkin confusing. Having researched the best way to go about this. I was fed conflicting facts too.

What I understand is that its best to get it serviced annually - this retains the 10 year warranty if done at a Toyota dealership (although I have been also told legally you can have it serviced anywhere to retain the 10 year thing - which makes no sense at all, but hey)

I shopped around recently for my 2019 as it was due a major plugs and brake fluid etc. Its done 15k.

I toyed around with taking it to a specialist, as I'd heard some horror stories from the dealerships and their lack of knowledge of the car. I've fitted an MST intake, strut brace, cosmetics and a back box delete, but largely mine is stock. JB4 is still waiting to be installed but I would remove this next service if I fitted it.

In regards to quotes: Lichfield came back with Ā£750.00 for the same thing that Toyota had quoted for Ā£469.99 for so that was a no brainer.

So last week I took it to Toyota Stratford Upon Avon and had a good experience with no problems at all. They even asked if I wanted any mods doing such as mirrors closing on lock etc. They knew the car it seems.

Incidentally having bumped into fellow Supra driver in a car park a few hours later that the head tech at that dealership, Chris, is highly knowledgeable and the dealerships in Cov and Nuneaton consult for advice and recommend to use him.

So that's where I'll be serving going forwards. So recommended if anyone is stuck in the Midlands not knowing what to do and where to go.

Since dealers don't have a clue, I've emailed Toyota to get clarification on this topic. If nothing else to have something in writing rather than phone call. I noted that my car comes with 5 years warranty, where as a Supra registered after 1st June 21 only comes with 3 years. So I should be ok, not officially servicing it this year, but will probably perform a DIY change with genuine parts.

Good morning.

I own a 2020 Toyota Supra 3.0 Pro and require confirmation on the servicing schedule. My car will be 3 years old in Sept this year. The next oil service isn't due until Sept 2024. Based on the two statements below from your warranty T&C's, am I correct in saying that I do not need to service the vehicle in Sept this year to maintain the warranty as it comes with 5 years as standard since it was registered before June 21. Then when I service it next year, it will come with a further 2 years warranty as the service intervals are 24 months.

"New vehicles ordered before 1 June 2021: The Manufacturer Warranty applies for 5
years/100,000 mile (whichever comes first) from the vehicle registration date"

"Customers whose vehicles have a 24-month service interval are required to get their vehicle
serviced every 24 months instead of every 12 months, can gain additional 24 months/20,000
mile (whichever comes first) warranty from each Service, every two years, until the 10-
year/100,000-mile (whichever comes first) limit is reached."

I got a response from Toyota on this, see below. So basically following the servicing schedule as per the iDrive system. No need for annual servicing to maintain the warranty, but take into account newer cars only come with 3 years not 5 years.

"Thank you for your email.

That is correct to maintain the Manufactures warranty a service is due every 20,000 or 24 months, whichever comes sooner. However, oil and filter change is due when the service oil light appears, regardless of the age or mileage of the vehicle.

I hope this helps and thank you for contacting Toyota GB.

Kind regards

ThankQ thatā€™s a great post and very clear, I feel that when I take mine in January 2025 theyā€™ll be a debate on the warranty being extended by a further 2 years at that point ā€¦ this is sound information to clarify šŸ‘Œ

Regards 10 year warranty any VAT registered company can do the service as long as they use the OEM parts and not copy or cheap products while following the service schedule, that's been around for years. had the same with my Focus RS and won all warranty claims 3 new engines and 2 headlights. So buy parts from Toyota and get your mate to fit if they own a garage that's what iam doing.

Not sure that is correct. The 10 year warranty does not apply to any garage. Toyota have been clever here. The car now comes with 3 years warranty. During this period you can get it serviced at any vat registered company and it complies with the regulations on warranty.

Toyota relax states:

Toyota warranty is a 1 year service-activated warranty. Available on vehicles after expiry of the original manufacturer's warranty. Up to 10 years old/100,000 miles (whichever comes first) when serviced at an official ToyotaCentre.

Agree with this. For the first 3 years I think that's the case (EU rule), but after that Toyota can determine the rules.
