Let me double check this. It may actually be a conversion coming off the harness for the camera.
Its a full HDMI located in front.
Apologies for the crappy pic, was a install test pic.

So the seller solved my issue with the screen turning off while connecting it to wired AA.

When installing, I saw this in the instructions:

So l, since I'm in US, I changed the wifi channel to 6.

Apparently, you have to leave it at 36, or else my same problem will happen to you. I switched it back to 36 and my problem was instantly solved.

Also, the seller taught me that if you leave the "back" button pressed, the MMI will reboot.

For some reason with these MMI's AA works best on wifi channel 36 and CarPlay on channel 6.

Also, the new Coolwalk UI has been released for rotary contrlled HU's for AA BETA users. You may want to keep an eye on the BETA channel to see if you can get it. The new UI is slick and allows you to toggle between split screen and full screen map.

Thinking of ripping mine out and returning it too.
Discovered to exit if the long press menu isnt working, you need exit to the black/white interface (disconnect AA) then scroll to exit and press down on right button on the steering wheel to select.

Being unable to switch back and forth between idrive quickly, breaks it for me.
If it didnt lockout, I'd probably keep it.
Update:
Removed and returned.
Decided to just buy an iPhone and use the stock Carplay.

Without the touchscreen, it breaks the integration for me.
My main use was Android Auto.

By the way, a tip for anyone who's installed a MMI box and use it through the AUX input.

AUX has its own volume slider separate from your main volume setting. If you tap AUX in the iDrive menu you'll see an icon on the left which lets you adjust the AUX volume. I was running on minimum volume for a year, wondering why my audio through Android Auto is so trash 🤦‍♂️
