Damn what a worry wart I was ?. She had no problems in sport mode with all nannies turned off in manual mode! I did have some overheating issues 1st day (power loss) in the afternoon and had to turn my custom map 6 off. Quickly learned and next day, around 2PM, switched to map 2. Problem solved!Maybe I'm used to it, but I didn't have any problems autocrossing mine. Nannies off, sport mode.
I've always been good at throttle modulation. I chalk it up to luck, as I've never really had to work hard at it... Just kinda felt it right away (thank you, baby Jesus for giving me SOMETHING).
I think the car drives great. It feels NA.
Also, I've practiced on cars that were mapped with REALLY aggressive throttle maps. Maybe that helped. Like "kill you" aggressive. Hated it, so I feel your pain.
I'm currently working on a fix to keep my car in manual mode. I don't appreciate the unpredictability of it swapping to AT.Damn what a worry wart I was ?. Throttle modulation was never an issue, brakes were linear, and only a few times did she slip out of manual mode, which was easily correctable.
Can’t wait to take her out again and test her even further. I’ll also learn how to insert a video clip @Evolution. I need to separate the videos. Had some great spin outs in front of me right on camera. Probably freaked a few peeps out with this phantom grey Supra coming up at warp speeds in their rear view mirrors ??. The speed and handling was beautiful ?
Hey ?, I don’t do auto cross but have been tracking for a while you most deff want to have the car in sport , in order to not have it break you most have a smoother driving line as I don’t know how you are driving and less correction “ use of break “ a good method of mastering the car would be to put in manual and go one gear higher than usual this will in return make the car a bit slower more controlable and less sensitiveDid my first autocross today with my 3.0. I could not get used to the throttle sensitivity. When the rears broke, they broke hard, causing me to react a lot to avoid spin. I drove my friends M2 and found it was much easier to control during oversteer. Others drove my car and said the throttle was insanely twitchy.
I ended up using racerom to put my car in valet mode, leaving Sport mode off, and running the whole race in 3rd gear. Comfort mode has less sensitive throttle.
Do any of the Sport Individual settings reduce throttle sensitivity? I’d like to run in sport mode but with normal throttle.
Note: I’m new and need practice. But in 12 runs today, I could not figure out how to roll the throttle on progressively.
I bet it wasnt over heating issues you had but more of needing more octane. I had the issue at one of my races on map 6 (90° temps) but then at my next race (108° temps) with an E20 mixture, it was faster than ever. I really dont think I have heard of someone ever over heating the actual coolant in these cars, especially at auto-x.Damn what a worry wart I was ?. Probably hit high intake temps. The car starts pulling timing and boost.I bet it wasnt over heating issues you had but more of needing more octane. Yeah I went to map 2 and no problem next day. And map 0 (turned off) same day and it magically went away. It was hot as balls out there. Gotta say…. It really wasn’t that big of a deal. I can gain a lot more speed in the corners. She’s got plenty of engine! Dude out of Plantation (Ft. Lauderdale area) was running 2:31 consistently without any tune. Only suspension mods and great setup/alignment. I was averaging 2:36 in the same HPDE3 run group. A seat would be the next best mod for me. Damn push your helmet forward headrest ? And a left knee pad! The guy from Ft. Lauderdale was wearing one and I was wrapping a towel around my knee from all the g’s (especially turn 17).I bet it wasnt over heating issues you had but more of needing more octane. Finally figured out how to export on Harry’s lap timer. Boring video, no cars around, but I sure enjoyed it. Was using Hawk DTC 60/30, Castrol SRF and not pushing too hard. Still breaking the car in after all ?I bet it wasnt over heating issues you had but more of needing more octane. but… definitely buying these for my next track event:
Hi thereSlightlybut… definitely buying these for my next track event:
https://paragonbrakes.com/
The other Supra buddy that was killing it out there, was outpacing everyone and using R5 or R7 without any fade whatsoever. I know CSG is phenomenal from your reviews but they are expensive as hell. I wish Hawk had DTC70 for our cars…

My average lap times(similar to my S2K back in the day). His were 2:31. Way faster ? I definitely had fade but it was manageable.
Great job out there! The other guy not tuned in the Silver Supra was using paragon. I bet I could get by with Hawk DTC 60/30 then. It was way more manageable with my tune off. I wouldn’t mind trying them again knowing you and the other Supra was doing just fine. The silver Supra guy I’ve been talking to via text (he was two stalls down from me) ran a 2.30.30 and mega consistent in that range. He sent me his video using his Garmin Catalyst. I was definitely babying my car (1st weekend with her excuse ?) and know she can do more. Appreciate you guys bumping me up to HPDE3. Running 1&2 was fun the first day. But I definitely didn’t see you. I didn’t have to give a single point by. Regardless, I had tons of confidence in my S2K and MX5. Will get there with the Supra ? eventually….Hi there
I was the other grey Supra on Saturday (had lady student in hpde1).
I use dtc 60 fronts and carbotec rears (cant remember compound) with no fade. Granted I am not tuned but was
able to knock a 2.32 out with the stock front wheels 19x9.
