Still waiting... How long have you been waiting for your GR Supra allocation/order/update etc.?

How long did you have to wait/have been waiting to receive your GR Supra from the dealership??

Picked up my 2024 Absolute Zero 3.0 today. I couldn't be happier with the car, MSRP+ tint/ceramic. Safety and technology package too. Local dealership came through last second, was initially going to drive two hours away to get mine. Doesn't feel real, this is my car now :)

This thing is so loud. Sorry to my neighbors. I love it though.

Which dealer did you get it from in California? I've been hunting for a red with black interiors, but because of this picture, I might have to settle for my second choice - white.

I’ve shipped several of my vehicles across the country to California the last 7 years and dealt with the transportation service providers. Ask me anything. I was shipping my cars across the country way before Covid. My most recent one was my MY2023 MKV. What I always have the rep or manager do is take a quick video or do a FaceTime while they walk around the car before the truck guy picks it up and sometimes ask for photos as they are loading it. As far as transportation I have a good and well priced transportation provider I can connect you with. Don’t make the mistake of starting to google and dial the providers you find at the top of the google results. Once you’ve shipped before, you have your go to company. The other ones online are a 3rd party so they basically are charging you a middle man fee which you can avoid by going direct. Those big 3rd party companies won’t share the contact info of the truck driver or fleet unless you already paid. Worse time to ship is mid winter because of all the crazy weather across the country. As far as open or enclosed container, save yourself the money and do open. As far as top or bottom, I’ve done both and the top is cheaper and same. Bottom is for paranoid folks who can’t afford an enclosed container, but think the bottom protects them from any rain or elements. Enjoy your car. It’s a blast man.

Can you DM me your transportation provider? I have been in the market for a Red Premium 3.0 (new or used) since the end of March. I have found a few Reds out of state, but either the dealer tried to jack me up with additional upsells or wouldn't work with me since I need the car shipped. I have been using Shipply to get price quotes beforehand and tell the dealer I have my shipper in place.

Sure. I’ll find my most recent paperwork. I had dealerships telling me they wouldn’t sell to me because I was “out of state” and supposedly some new policy of theirs with limited supply vehicles. I just moved on and called another dealership. I’ve had good luck out in Virginia and the Eastcoast with no markups and them being friendly to out of state buyers. They all have goals and quotas to meet. Just a matter of calling a dealerships that knows you got your ducks in a row and ready to go.

Test it. If you need a new one:

https://powertexbatteries.com

Can always upgrade!
Brought it to a toyota dealership and they just had to charge it. The dealership I got it from forgot to put it on a charger during inspection or something to that extent.

Drove it for 2 hours last night. I love it

oh yeah it's definitely just me not being used to loud cars, my last car was a 330i so i'm not used to all these pops and gurgles from my new car ahaha. would love to roll down the windows and hear it but the tint is new so will need another day or two probably :spaz:

edit: 4th day of ownership, i think he was right. it's not loud enough ? that needs to be fixed
I have found the Normal mode to be perfect for entering/exiting our neighborhood in the morning or later at night, but otherwise... SPORT mode all day! And yes, more louder please. ?

Just curious if other dealers around the country are stuck with a surplus of Supras. Our local dealership in Hawaii has 32 Supras in stock. They're being marked down below MSRP. Some as cheap as $53K. It would almost make sense for someone to buy here and ship to the mainland. It's crazy to think that I put my deposit down in July '22 and had to wait until April '23 for mine, but now they're overloaded.

Yeah, people have talked about doing just that. Why in the hell they mis-shipped em all over there is beyond me?!? These cars are still going for over $10k here in Florida. Insane!!

It’s about $1k to get it from HI to CA. Then approx another buck per mile to haul it to another state. So good point. Still cheaper & very doable.

I really tried to do this but it just wasn’t feasible. I was in HI on vacation a couple of weeks ago. Called several Toyota dealerships in HI to buy and ship to mainland. Everyone kept saying I need to register the car in HI before shipping to and reregistering in mainland. They said it could take 4 weeks for me to get the registration before I could ship the car out. Logistically it just was too difficult to make it worth while. I’d gladly pay an extra couple grand to pick up the car at a local dealership. The GR Supra is no longer impossible to find now, even on the mainland.

You need a freaking permit just to breathe the air in Hawaii i guarantee getting a car shipped from there is one hell of a process that might not be worth it

Does anyone know the significance of when the window sticker is issued for a new built GR Supra?

Once the window sticker is available, does that mean the car is built, on the ship to the U.S., or already at U.S. port waiting for ground transport to the dealership?

you can get a vin/window sticker before it’s built. But it does mean you have a build slot so it’s gonna happen. Once you have a build slot and vin the dealer can keep track of it and see the status on their systems. You can also see a delivery time estimate on Toyota inventory site
