Those of you who have driven the tail with your Supra, what is that one mod you have done that made the driving experience more enjoyable? Whether it's power or suspension? Headed there soon, so I wanted to ask.

For me, swapping to a square tire setup with stickier rubber made a huge difference — way more confidence in corners. Suspension tweaks help too, but tires were the game changer.

If you get stuck behind a retired slowpoke in a grand wagoneer, most of those folks have zero spatial awareness and will not use the dozens of pull-offs. you can either pull over and wait to make space yourself, or flip a u-ie and backtrack a bit and come back.

Curvy roads are only fun after you learn all the turns.. which could take weeks if not months. So go slow, enjoy watching Mustangs crash into trees. Actually they don't even need curvy roads for that..

The best thing to do is learn the route and respect the safety of others. I live in the Blue Ridge Parkway area and always cruise in places I haven't explored before.

When slower traffic refuses to use a turn off I just park and chill in one myself just to create some distance.

  • OE is fine, but if you have the opportunity, stickier tires will take it to the next level.
  • If you're running in a group, make sure everyone gives each other space. People tend to bunch up too much sometimes. Highly recommend walkie talkies too if you have a buddy with you or even the whole group. Cell service can be non-existent some times.
  • Also try to minimize your eating and drinking, it's not like you can just pull off the road and stop at a gas station or mcdonalds.
  • Visually be scanning up ahead as far as you can see, I've had deer, bears, bicyclists, people walking, rocks, and all kinds of other things when I've come around a corner. Usually, I'm lead car so I will throw my hazards on if I come across something, so the cars behind me know to be on the lookout in that section.
  • Drive within your limits and your cars limits. Everyone's skill set and car setup is different. It's not a race, it's just about you connecting with the road and nature.
  • Most important tip, stay between the yellow and white lines. That is your path. The more you deviate from that the more chance for errors/mistakes/bad things happening.
I came across this video last month and it has some good tips. "Keep it between the mustard and the mayo" :D

Overall, it is a blast! Have fun!

Roads that are 90% blind corners and that slow aren't that much fun in reality. Throw in endless traffic because it's now so popular and no I wouldn't be interested in driving it myself even if it was local to me. Race tracks are the most enjoyable drive by a long way. Fast, safe , controlled and legal.

It has been a rainy summer in WNC, a lot of afternoon thunderstorms. If you desire to ride the dragon, a weekday morning would be my recommendation. There are other nice mountain roads to drive in WNC that Helene hasn’t closed. Moonshiner 28 is one.

Don't let all these Negative Nancys deter you. We are counting on you for the WIN!
If your pedal isn't on the floor, you are wasting our time. Open passing makes a lot more fun.
Use your horn a lot.

If your pedal isn’t to the floor, you’re just wasting time. Open passing keeps things fast—don’t get stuck behind slow drivers.
