ZRK can't drive so that's why he has to make so much power to win.. pretty crazy for driving an auto, I know.

Hey zack I got a couple of questions about the jb4

So I recently installed mine alone at home seemed easy enough. So now I'm just testing a bunch of stuff. First of all how do I properly connect it. Is it fine if I connect while driving or do I need to do it before starting the car or after starting? Also if I set my map to map 2, do I need to connect it each time to the car so that it sets the car to map 2? Or is it fine if I just set it before hand and even if I turn off the car I dont need to reconnect. Sometimes the gauges on the app either dont work or freeze is that normal (Except the boos gauge its always working)? or do I need to check the connections? Map 8 which is the valet map dosent limit the rpm and speed I put my foot down and felt normal, am I missing something here?

You don't need to connect the app at all. The settings are saved on the device itself.

Make sure OBD is connected for all the gauges to work. Double-check that connection is solid.

Valet mode only limits boost on JB4, not RPM.

On paper, should be the same. They use an updated 400 GESI cat, just like AA (probably the exact same cat). Also it’s a 4.5” until the outlet (also like the AA). Might even question if it’s a copy lol.

sooooo maybe the guru forum god himself @zrk can help me with this...

i have a 2022 3.0 with no tune and i recently installed an awe touring and a catless downpipe that i modified to have a 3.5 inch outlet to match the awe.

ever since i added the downpipe the car will almost always short shift every gear at 5000-5800 when at full throttle and i have no idea why??

the only thing i can think of is that because of the massive increase in exhaust flow it is messing with something in the shift logic?

anyone with any ideas on why the downpipe is making the car short shift would be really appreciated as i am baffled!

I struggle to believe this is true and not in your head. Do you have an aftermarket trans tune or anything.

engine isn't tuned - trans isn't tuned

the car is bone stock other than the down pipe and AWE exhaust. i've owned the car since new i've been to the drag strip multiple times and raced on the street from a dig PLENTY car has been raced before and after installing all these parts. I would say i'm very familiar with the way this car launches.

ever since installing the downpipe the car short shifts when in automatic almost every time to the point I no longer use auto and only shift with the paddles.

i launch in 2nd gear and flick back to auto which seems to be pretty common practice, i have tried multiple times and continuously watch the car short shift 2nd-3rd-4th gear between 5000-5800rpm ive launched the car probably 10 times with the same result over multiple days with varying weather.

it is very obviously shifting early as i watch it sweep through the tach and see every shift point... throttle is wide open fully depressed and the car is in sport mode but still shift well short of the redline. i'm pretty baffled by it ,but if you know of any possible explanations i'm all ears !

Where is your transmission setting at? hasn't gone to "normal" instead of "sport" has it? Had the battery disconnected during the work?

If anyone would know, @zrk would. Like you, I have a catless dp, AWE track exhaust and a JB4 that I use in town (not on track, yet…). When I was throwing various codes (chassis or steering angle to name a few) the car would not hold gears/shifts in manual mode (sport or normal). There was another thread somewhere on this giant forum where others had the same issues. I didn’t follow it further because after I got all my screen errors “fixed”, the problem went away.

Do you currently have any errors or codes? It’s like Lord of the Rings but with sensors. One sensor to rule them all. Or at least it feels that way sometimes 😂. Hope you get it fixed soon!
