Here we have one overriding requirement, "fit for purpose". So if for instance your clutch fails in the first 6 months of ownership and you can rule out deliberate abuse it doesn't matter what the dealer or manufacturer says about "wear items" and such a clutch in a car is expected to last longer than 6 months under normal conditions. The issue is most people don't know their consumer rights AND aren't prepared or have the tenacity/time to argue with the manufacturer so bail out and accept whatever they get. Also remember the dealer receives rewards from the manufacturer for all sorts of things and one is Warranty claims or the lack there of. The other is the classic injector cleaner automatically used in every service. I have a relative that enjoyed a weeks paid for vacation in Hong Kong with the whole family on the yearly sales he made on injector cleaner and another friend was being paid around $500/month bonus for the same.Problem with AU is that we don't have the same regs as NA (Warranty claim can only be denied if aftermarket part can be proven to have caused fault). It's a bit sketchier.
I'd happy argue that if I had a suspension fault, but a cat-back exhaust, that warranty should cover it, for example - but even then, I still feel it's a risk.
Hence only doing springs/wheels/exhaust on mine until warranty is over.
No matter how well dressed and friendly the service managers are they are NOT your friends and neither is the dealer principle.
