In the Uk, official figures have the Supra beating the Z4 m40i. 4.3 vs 4.6

it's likely the US Z4 that does 3.9 and that's not shocking at all given it has a 50hp advantage over the A90.

it is a little strange however given the Z4 weighs 50lbs more than the Supra...

Maybe the extra weight is from the convertible mechanisms?

It's worth mentioning outside of the US acceleration is measured in 0-100kmh, or 0-62mph..

Yawn. Lets see, 70grand to get a Z4 that does 3.9s 0-60, or 70 grand to buy a Supra, plus a retune (1k or less) to also get to 3.9 or less + a brand new Corolla to get to work lol.

If BMW underrates their engines, wouldn't the 382hp Z4 figure also be underrated? In the end, more power from the factory is always better.

That article doesn't actually state that the what vehicles the O1/M1 are used in.

I would assume the O since the article states that the lower hp trim is the M, and we know the Z4 has the higher hp engine.

That's the assumption, but we've also heard that the difference between the 380 and 340hp output is the particulate filter...

Is the M1 380hp with no filter?

I am chasing details I know, but there's a few things that don't add up. Especially that the Z4 that have been previewed to date have the M1 exhaust manifold and IIRC are US spec?
