Seems everyone is sharing the same specs: 340hp and a 4.6 sec 0-62...

EDIT: Just saw the above ^^^. That's good to hear. Sorry to our Euro friends.

Yeah the official toyota release for the US has already stated we're getting the same motor for the manual version.

The reviews of the transmission and 2023 updates are all sounding really good so far. Can't wait.

"The shift action itself is satisfying too, if not perfect. "

Here are more reviews. Everything sounds super positive about the manual transmission feeling so far.

Also surprisingly the Evo article mentions the manual is £2000 cheaper than the automatic equivalent in the UK market. I'm curious to see what it will be in the US.

The real question among all the press and arguments is sales: From the TopGear link:

Is anyone actually going to buy a manual GR Supra?

Good question. On the plus side, when Porsche made the GT3 a PDK-only car, there was frothing uproar followed by queues around das block for the 911 R and manual GT3 Touring. So the ‘you can’t have DIY gears until we say so’ tactic can really pay off – on true hardcore specials.

On the other hand, how many F-Type manuals did Jaguar ever shift? One in ten Caymans in the UK has three pedals, despite being blessed with a gearshift from the gods. BMW M2 DCTs outnumber manuals by a similar margin. This could be a classic case of a car that enthusiast geeks think Toyota should build, but have no intention of actually shelling out £50k+ for themselves.

For what it’s worth, Toyota reckons the manual will take 30-40 per cent of sales. Which is a fair old chunk. Makes you wonder why they didn’t bother with it to start with, huh?

Interesting….5th gear is the 1:1? Hmmm, most 6spd’s have 4th as the 1:1. Optimized for good acceleration and top end?
BMW 6 MTs have always had 5th gear as the 1:1 and 6th as the overdrive. You wouldn't want 2 overdrive gears on a 6MT.

Here are the max speeds by gear for anyone interested

Engine RPM : 7000
Axle Ratio : 3.46
Tire Height (in) : 26.57

- - - Ratio MPH
1st: 4.110 38.91
2nd: 2.315 69.08
3rd: 1.542 103.71
4th: 1.179 135.64
5th: 1.00 159.92
6th 0.846 189.03

Do you have the auto figures to compare?

That's a little more tall geared than I was hoping. Not Porsche bad, but not great.
