Tire mount/balance at Costco Tires or autoshop

I've purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 from Costco which includes insallation in the price but Im paranoid about wheels getting scratched from careless/rushing techs or something. Im considering taking them to an independent BMW/Supra auto shop nearby to have them mounted and balanced. Do you guys get your tires installed at Costco/Discount Tires/any typical tire shop without issues? Everything on my set up including new tires are all stock spec.

Fair concerns, I’ll be Getting new sets sometimes in summer and will go through Costco myself. I live in Costco.

I personally have never had issue with Costco tire center, it's actually one of the biggest reasons I have my membership as I don't really ever shop there much otherwise. Your mileage may vary!

Every Costco tire center in my area (Northen Virginia) has really poor google reviews. I guess that's not the case for some other places in the US.

If they want you to sign a waiver, go to the tire shop that you normally use.

All I know is, don't go anywhere near a Tire Kingdom with these rims. Some of the locations don't have proper clamp pads so your wheel tubs will get scratched.
Plus, they don't know how to use a torque wrench.

Fwiw, if you are ever concerned about quality of service, then go to a BMW independent shop.

As convenient as it is to buy tires and get them mounted at a "tires r us", things like a cross-threaded wheel bolt make that 2 hours of labor at an indy worth every penny.

I am actually about to get some new summer tires for my Supra at the Fair Lakes Costco. Let me know how it goes.

I decided to just go with the Costco tire install and a hoped a 20$ tip for the tire tech picking up my car would set me straight. But apparently theyre not allowed to accept tips anymore. They did write a note in the paperwork to take care though and I did see another BMW and a GT3 in the service bay while I was there which made me feel a little better.

Anyways, it was all for nothing as their lifts didnt fit my Supra which seemed to maybe be just a 2025 model thing as they said they've serviced a90 supras before? The lift arms touch the side skirts and they tried different lift plates, using lift arm extensions, and reparking the car different ways but nothing worked without potentially damaging the car apparently. All the Costcos on the east coast likely have the same lifts they said so idk if this is just a unique issue for my car or common to 2025 models or what...

I have to take it to a shop now I guess..

I got my Supras tires installed at Benz Automotive in Merrifield on Tuesday (2/24) $200 for the back two. I’m lowered and was previously on spacers but now just rocking 305 Nitro NT555R2’s without spacers. They did great and did not scratch my wheel.

Thanks for the recc. So far a supra shop called books performance in Fairfax quoted 380 for the full set and this mobile tire install company said they can install and balance for 250. They seem pretty alright and theyve got alot of performance cars on their google reviews/pics. Ill keep calling and looking around..
