Tomei dual exit drone fix

Hello guys
I’ve got Tomei Type D 3/4 weeks ago paired with catless dp. Surprisingly theres annoying drone on low rpm ( 2k to 3k ) specially in normal mode. Its even worse with stage 2 ots map bootmod tune
I’ve wrapped the exhaust but it still drone
I like the tone and exhaust note but im not keeping it unless i fix this drone issue

Any suggestions ?

Try n put a small resonator in the mid pipe...shouldn't effect sound a whole lot...

I had the same issue with my AWE touring when I did Bm3 stage 2 and catless dp. I called AWE and ordered the resonated mid pipes but they were 9 weeks out, I had them send the dimensions and style of resonator, and then had 18" vibrants put on the over axle pipes, between the mid pipe and mufflers, where AWE placed theirs. it is much better and the car sounds a lot cleaner.

i had the same issue. I notice two things, a lot of the rattles comes from under the trunk carpet. Adding dynamat there removes a lot of the drone.

I also notice that a lot of the rattles comes from the door. So adding dynamat behind the door helps.

doing dynamat in the doors and in the trunk eliminate the drone completely in sport mode. But some still remain in normal mode.

During normal mode, certain frequency will rattle the subwoofer. I removed the subwoofer and the rattles is pretty much eliminated. So I think to remove the rattle completely, you need to replace the sub.

I think the best option is to replace the whole exhaust ?
Im between AFE (low price) and FI (best but expensive)

I have heard the Fi in person and IMO Tomei sound much better than Fi.

I agree but the drone from inside is really annoying

Use normal mode to close the valve.....wait .

HKS Hi-Power has stock like drone in normal mode. My theory is when the valve is closed the exhaust is reversed back canceling out the resonance, similar to how J pipes are used to eliminate drone.
