Hello fellow European Supra MKV owners and forum users,
This is my first post here, and as you might have guessed from the title, I would like to make some sound modifications to my Supra in order to make my European Supra sound the way a Supra should. I am currently not interested in power tuning, as I don’t want to tamper with a car that is quite new (2025).
As we all know, regulations in the EU are much stricter than in the US, so I have a few concerns about the modifications I want to address here before ordering them.
From what I read on the GRAIL website, the exhaust and downpipe should be EU road legal, as they are ECE (OPF | Euro 6d‑TEMP) certified (https://grailautomotive.de/Toyota-GR-Supra-30l-MK5-Grail-Exhaust_1). But just to be sure, I would like to ask if anyone can confirm their road legality.
My main concern is the Armaspeed carbon cold air intake (https://www.armaspeed.com/product/toyota-supra-a90-mk5-3-0-carbon-fiber-cold-air-intake/) and the T51R mod (https://daddyturbos.com/products/t51r-mod-d?variant=53486592590115). There is almost no information on the internet regarding their legality in the EU. Has anyone installed them in Europe? Are they road legal? What are the main concerns?
Also, will these modifications cause problems with the manufacturer in terms of warranty or other issues? From what I understand, European Court law has a solid stance that under EU consumer warranty law, a manufacturer cannot cancel the entire warranty just because aftermarket parts have been installed. The dealer must prove that the modification caused the problem before denying coverage.
For reference, I live in Estonia.
Many thanks and best wishes to everyone!
