Working on installing an exhaust, and I saw oil covering the trans oil sump. Is this normal? I was told it could be coming from the trans breather? should I retorque the bolts, clean, and check again later? or should I just take it to the dealer?

I only see scuff marks and some leak over the bolts. Can't see clearly, is there more oil leakage all over? (I'm not suggesting any of it is normal, just trying to understand the pictures better)

That's dust, you see.

This is a picture of the cover under the trans.

Mine looked the same. It's a known issue. Some folks had the transmission pan replaced, some had the transmission output shaft seal (yoke) replaced. Some still had leaks after the fixes. First time I've heard of a trans breather valve before, could be a good explanation, given thats the reason why the rear diff leaks.
