Does anyone know if there is a way to automatically reset the trip computer each time a full tank of fuel is added - either the one in the gauge cluster or on the iDrive screen? I can't seem to find the ability to set this anywhere.

Is this yet another missing feature or is it just me?

Look on the lower left side of the speedometer module, and you'll see a little button. It's small and black, but when you find it, you can push it after you refuel, and it'll reset the trip meter to 0000.

Are you talking about the mpg meter in the lower right side or?

if so, push and hold the left steering column stalk top button and it resets it.

Thanks @Frankidee and @razorlab. I was hoping there was a setting to make it automatically reset. My Type R can be set to automatically zero out every time I fill the tank which is handy. Having looked into it a bit more it looks like not being able to do that is a BMW thing.. again, unless I've missed something.

It looks like it's a non-starter as far as IDrive is concerned. I thought there might be a Bimmercode fix but it looks like BMWs don't believe in auto-resetting the trip computer, unfortunately.
