Trip odometer reset button/diag mode button not working

Then default thing for bmws unplug the battery for like 30 minutes then try again. Or charge the battery. Bmw electronics always have issues if battery is not at 100%.

Use bimmer link to reset the oil light and call it a day. Your probably not pressing the button 3 times fast enough. Happens to me sometimes as well.
