I already did the recall that subsequently locked my ecu. I got it bench unlocked and got a custom ecutek tune.
Decided to get my brake fluid flushed and oil changed at a local European specialist so it would pop on my carfax report…. I’m pretty sure they accessed the obd2 port to reset the maintenance intervals.
Any chance this did the same as the recall and deleted my tune?
Trying to figure out if my car really feels different or if it’s all in my head

I don’t have a dongle 😑
I'm going to be a dick here. You shouldn't have a tuned car if you can't even pull logs. If you can't read them because you don't know how that's one thing. But if you have no ability to generate logs for someone to look at, you have no business with a tuned car.

No ecutek dongle to check or ability to pull logs? Can do some dragy runs. Can run against (or just drive) a stock Supra. Can visit your local drag strip and get your trap.

Probably best to just get a way to pull logs.

Cool story bro
Says the dude worried his tune was erased by resetting maintenance intervals......
Tell me you know nothing about your car, without telling me you know nothing about your car.

I’m so grateful for your input. Your apparent expertise and opinion has been such a help.

From having a dealer brick one ECU and then having my DME locked from the recall I think I have a reason to be wary after taking it in for Mx.

In better and more productive news though I didn’t have a dongle on hand last night I have since confirmed I’m good to go.

Depends on what the garage does:
  • If they only do normal oil change and some basic stuff, no your ECU will not be flashed.
  • However if they hook it up to the computer to check for latest software updates (and yes there are a lot more updates then the 'brake recall' -> recent one was couple of weeks ago), it will flash your ECU back to stock and lock it again.

That’s cool and all, but if you were as worried as you seem you really should have a have a way to read logs and check the ecu. It’s not expensive and will put your mind at ease.

Instead, you mock the one person in this thread that was telling you this and being logical. Why even ask for help if you’re going to respond that way?

exactly why I was initially worried. Toyota indicated this to me and this is why if I don’t do my own service I’ve gone non-dealer. Thanks for confirming!

I just didn’t have a dongle on hand and was looking if anyone else had non-dealer experience. As you can read above and if you had been on the forum long enough you’d know a lot of A90s had DMEs wiped when going to Toyota for simple periodic maintenance/recalls. What I’m not going to do is ignore the keyboard commandos ignorant comments on a very useful and responsive form community.

zrk gave you the most useful information and you chose to ignore it and mock him with the whole cool story bro bs. You can act like you’re the victim here, but you’re the one mocking a useful reply.

Glad a non dealership (who does the recalls and such) didn’t wipe your ecu and lock it again though.
