Okay so I completely understand this argument, and similarly I understand this argument coming from guys who still go Femto but end up on BM3.Complaints about rough power delivery on JB4s coming from people running the OTS settings? It was shit for me, but feels great after @Jesse DaBears did his thing. Don't notice any latency or delay in power delivery, either. Ultimately I'll get a proper tune, but this is fine for meow.
The only argument I can think of is people being nervous about shipping their ECU. Doubly so if it's their daily. I can understand that concern. That doesn't bother me in the least, personally, but I've never had a package lost in the decades I've been shipping stuff around. My car also isn't my daily driver, so if my ECU were somehow lost or damaged in shipping... oh well, it's insured. Would just be down the amount of time it takes to order a new one (which I understand could be months). In my case, the reason I went JB4 is because the Femto process was fresh and stuff still had to go to Russia during the middle of a new war in the region they were engaged in. I'm not shipping/receiving anything to/from Russia (job complications primarily) and there being an active war in the region made me nervous. I still hesitate primarily because I don't want to give the money to a Russian company. Politics and job-related concerns in my case. There's a handful of people in the same boat, but the cross section of that group with Supra owners is likely small.Okay so I completely understand this argument, and similarly I understand this argument coming from guys who still go Femto but end up on BM3.
To get the same smooth power delivery, and the same numbers you get on MHD OTS tunes you have to spend at least the same amount on a JB4, and even more money for a custom tune either for the JB4 or BM3.
The jb4 is great for being a stop gap when cars aren’t tuneable like the C8, but when the Femto option is the same or less, and Pureboost maps are soo good, why sacrifice?
