I run a DAW7679 and personally never had a smoke issue. After seeing posts of people having smoking issues, I just wanted to take the precaution and decided to install a Turbosmart opr v2 while it was off this winter. I originally ordered a B58 feed fitting from Vargas Turbo and just reamed the hole out to fit on the turbo housing. After sharing this install with Vargas, they advised the fitting was not made for this and recommended I remove it, no explanation was given but I assumed it was because the fitting was aluminum and maybe can’t handle the high heat of the housing. So rather than this deter me, I decided to simply cut the steel feed line and install a 5/16 to 6an compression fitting and reduce that to 4an. Even though I did this with the turbo off the particular micro tube cutter I used is small enough to use with the turbo still installed. I know the ugly heat tubing is x3 the size of the line but it was laying around and is only to prevent the steel line from rattling
I know BimmerNetwork just released a specific fitting for this, which I just ordered, for when the next time I have my turbo out but if you don’t feel like removing the turbo, the compression fitting may be your way to go
