I picked this up on Monday, trading my LC Black Inspiration for it - as much as I loved my LC it was very hard to live with on the narrow lanes around here.
The Supra immeadiately felt "right" - in fact it reminds me a lot of the old Rx7 TIIs in terms of feel and handling!

Out with the old:

In with the new:

Initial plans are:

Paint correction & ceramic coating. (As an ex-demonstrator it has been exposed to the full benefit of repeated Toyota dealership valeting... 218 miles when I went to view it and probably 200 washes with the workshop floor rag!)
Akrapovic rear silencer.
Number plate switched to towing mount.
Private plates
After that it will be off to Whifbitz to arrange the ECU unlock and a stage 1 tune. (Possibly further exhaust changes if it will still pass an MOT like that)

I may do some further tweaks like strut brace, intake etc as time allows.

Very nice pal, check out how they have attached your number plate holder to the front! 😐 Also get some protection on your rear arches, and side skirt area. Especially with your gravel Drive, mine are destroyed pretty much. Enjoy

That sounds like the voice of experience!
What horrors should I expect beneath the plate holder then? o_O
My driveway isn't the issue...it's the miles of broken unadopted roads covered in cow 🤬 before I get anywhere sensible! 😂

Plate holder area (front bumper) is fine if you aren't right. Behind another car. Fenders and rocker panels will get destroyed if you don't have mud guards and/ or PPF. The curved in design catches a lot of rocks.

Narrow lanes are no match for a Defender 110.

Congrats on the pickup, double congrats on getting rid of an automatic.

I got mine on the front too... if you do move it to the tow hook, let us know (photos if possible) how bad the holes are on the nose from the plate holder; I never dared look either 😅

I swear my front plate is not even level so god knows what the holes look like on mine! 🫣

These are the rock guards:

I got some a couple months back and only just whacked them on the other day.. (not the most interesting purchase! 😂)
My dealer actually emailed me while the tech was doing the PDI to ask if I was happy with the holder placement, I found that to be really good of them - photo is of the tech's hand 😅

My ZL1's arrived today, as did the adapter to move the plate to the towing eye.

Car goes in tomorrow morning for the correction, detailing & coating - they will also fit the plate holder and stone guards at the same time. (+ the Akarapovic back box)

Looking forward to this as not actually driven her since the 3rd due to the crap weather. (No sign of my V5 yet either, so not got my chosen number plates made up either!)

Exciting! 💯

I haven't driven mine in 2 weeks either :( planning to try it this Friday!

Strange about the V5, mine came very quickly; I used dvla live chat before and was surpisingly helpful.

I'll give that a go - the V5 for the LC500 came through really quickly, (I took a plate off that during the sale) so surprised nothing has appeared yet for this one!

Step 1 is now complete!
She's had a deep clean, prep & ceramic coating, (IGL Kenzo) by the ever talented hands of Lawrence at South West Autoworx, he was also able to arrange the fitting of the Akrapovic slip on silencer. (This gives a deeper exhaust tone, but no significant increase in volume at this point)

I'm really pleased with the finish, and on a black car I don't think you can go wrong with a ceramic coating to help with keeping it clean!

Still waiting for the poxy V5 document to show up so I can put my own reg on there, but that's a first world problem...

In other news, I forgot to mention above that the ZL1 stone guards have been fitted too - they suit the car quite well.
Finally got my V5 through so could swap the plates over! :spaz:

The rear one is fine, but I forgot to actually do any kind of test fitting with the offset front plate holder. You absolutely cannot fit a standard UK front plate using the towing eye adaptor kit, it will look 9 kinds of stupid. Ordered up a square plate yesterday, so hopefully that will arrive in a day or two and I can get this little job out of the way!

...and the weather contiunes to be utterly crap still.
