So I decided to change my oil on my 2021 Supra. Everything was going well until it came time to tighten the drain plug. Yup, it didn’t take much to strip it. I didn’t even force it and I also used a torque wrench. I wonder how Toyota will fix this. I sure hope I don’t have to replace my oil pan. Life sucks right now.
What type of torque wrench did you use? I always use my inch pounds wrench with a limit of 25 ft/lbs max. This way you can sense the torque detent much easier.

The stock spec. of 18 ft/lbs is light force to tighten. Definitely try a thread repair kit first. To replace the stock pan will be over $1K easily.

Time-cert is a great product, the kit comes with everything you need to do the repair. I recently used on for a stripped frame on my yamaha and it worked perfectly.

Only concern is the metal shavings you may get in the oil pan when you drill and thread it.

I would flush it with a few sacrificial quarts of oil once the time-sert is installed.
