Can someone please post a comparison with the EDM, JDM & USDM taillights ?

I can’t find any pictures on the internet.

also, what is the advantage(s) of having that extra light bulb in the headlights ?

thanks in advance !

The extra light that OP highlighted is a cornering light which illuminates at certain steering wheel angles and also turns on when approaching junctions according to GPS info.

The matrix feature of the high beam in EU/UK cars is multiple pixels inside the high beam LED clusters.

Ahh okay, makes sense. This is something I’d like for the future.
Question though, since the EDM/JDM cars are RHD, if I ( who lives in the USA ) purchased these headlights, would They still have the appropriate little dip on the drivers side ? You know how it isn’t a straight beam. It dips down just a tad bit to not blind other drivers. Would they be flipped to the other headlight ?

Can’t say for certain, but it should just be a simple thing of changing the headlight alignment. I think there’s also a LHD/RHD setting for the headlights for when changing between say UK and EU roads

When off they all look exactly the same. However, as stated before on here, the EDM\JDM models appear to have the Amber colored turn signals at the rear (this is due to regulations in Europe\Asia that the rears must be Amber.

In the video below skip to minute 1:00 and you'll see an example of how the EDM\JDM indicator illuminates (the video makes the color different, but everything is red except for the indicator which is amber.

In the US, D.O.T requires the rear to be either Amber or Red, therefor Toyota\BMW saves money on the tails by not adding an extra LED module board for the turn signal and instead just repurposes the brake light. I should add, that the EDM\JDM taillight lens is still all red, but due to a green film being placed behind the indicator section, it makes it look amber when illuminated (at least that's how BMWs are)

I have an M2, and i've actually been able to order the Euro. spec taillight with Amber indicators as I prefer it than Red safety wise (other driver eyes will catch it better, at least that's my opinion). PLug and play.

That said, i have not been able to source out the JDM\EDM tail - part-number -- but i'd imagine the wiring would be the same (if it is different, it wouldn't be hard to figure out which wire is which and de-pin it from the harness to its correct location.

Bumping. I’m also curious if anyone’s considered trying to swap in the Euro headlights into a US-based car, and if so, if they were able to get them to work and what they did to get them to work.

My gut is telling me that there’s too much tech-wizard bs in the way of getting these matrix + cornering lamp lights to work on our cars here in the US.. As a light geek that makes me kinda sad. But who knows, maybe I need to be the one to try it first and share with the community?

+1 for any Euro friends out there that could post a vid of their headlights working at night. Would LOVE to see how much of a difference we’re talking about and whether or not it’s worth our hyper-fixations lol.

EU Supra here, but I don't have matrix headlights.
I had matrix headlights in my previous car though (Lexus NX350+) and they were mind blowing.

I was very skeptical at first, also worried of blinding oncoming cars, but they actually work very well.
Of all the modern ADAS and assistive tech I've seen in recent years, the matrix headlights are really useful.
