Supra mk V 3.0 Sept 2020
Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I wanted to present my Supra and the different mods on it and future mods as they come.

So first off, I got my Supra used in Oct 2021.
It's a Sept 2020 model with the 3.0L and 340hp.

I'm French so it is a EU version. (double cat: downpipe + exhaust)

The first thing I did the day I got it was to bring it to a tuner shop to check the engin and also try to tune it.
The thing we learn was that the ECU was from July 2020 (unlucky)
But the car was super healthy (perfect dyno runs) and no damage to any parts.

After having the car for a few days I decided it was time to put an exhaust on it cause the EU version sucks in term of noice.

So i went to a shop specialized in custom exhaust (the shop was recommanded by my trusted tuner).

So in december 2021 i dropped the OEM exhaust for the following one:

It's an compressed air valved exhaust.
It's not the most beautiful one but it was doing the job.

The biggest problem here is the "was" doing the job.
after only 150/250km i got a limp mode on the car when the exhaust is in close valve (so the quiet mode).
I went to the dealer that confirmed it was a pressure problem in the exhaust.
That pressure problem bridle the power around 270hp when the exhaust is close, so I have to also have the valve open.
(to this day the exhaust isn't fixed but i'm working on it and it's look like it's going to be a legal battle)

But this didn't make me love my car less (just the workshop and the exhaust itself).
So I working on my car slowly.

The next this i did was changing the air intake on the hood and the mirror for carbon one:

sorry, on that picture car was durty :/

The next thing i changed on the car is getting so new shoes for it (but i always keep the OEM parts):

I went with the Japan Racing SL01 in bronze:

and that's is where I am on the car mods atm.

I received my fake carbon strips for the passager side of the vent
(picture coming after install).

In term of mods that I would like to have:
Performance mods:
-Fix the exhaust problems obviously. When the "legal battle" is done I'm considering different option (I am open to suggestions, I just want a system that isn't to noisy when closed but can unleash so noice when need, and more importantly, no issue with engin (engin lights and what not) or performance downgrade):
=> Catted AA downpipe + OEM exhaust
=> Custom valve exhaust (well made) keeping the OEM down pipe
=> Full Turbo back but catted downpipe.

-I'm looking forward to get a stage 1 or 2 map. (when my ECU can be cracked) So just exhaust, performance air filter and that it at first.

Visual mods:
-Getting a Carbon wing (the small, tapped ones)

-Changing the Toyota front and back badges for 3D printed black on black one.
(I don't know how to mesure precisely the front and rear badges which is stopping me atm)

-Maybe a Covering (but i haven't found anyone willing wrap nicely my car for a normal price)
(This is my old car just so you can imagine the kind of wild wrap i'm into)

I'll try to keep you guys update on my Supra and the mods
And also post some nice picture when I do photoshoots.

I love the non-USA bumpers that do not have the awful cut outs for the reflectors. So clean.

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

As of now, I added some carbon inside.

I'm also still waiting on a tune available (outside of femto, wait to expensive)

Don't hesite to recommand me some exhaust. (i dig the HKS for now, but waiting on tune for now)

Don't need tune for the exhaust. If you change the downpipe you will.

People told me that if i touch one of the cat, we have 2 in EU version i cannot run untuned.
we got a catted downpipe like US then a cat in the middle of the exhaust pipe (where it goes from single to double exhaust)
So if i understood correctly, i'll have to cut my OEM exhaust to keep both cat.
I don't want to cut anything factory for reseller/collection purpuses

Unfortunatly i cannot work on my "new" exhaust or downpipe till that shitty situation with the custom exhaust is fixed =/
I'm just looking at my option for when the time comes and lawyer say i can ditch that shit.

I would say FI if you want something quiet when the second exhaust tip valve is closed, but something with grunt when you do open it.

other than that, i'm on a stock exhaust and it's sufficing my needs, but then again, i also do understand there is a difference between stock exhausts from the US version and the EU version.

Unfortunatly the EU version is super quiet.
I'll look into the FI exhaust. Thanks for advise :)
