Yeah, maybe not as practical as I assumed.

@Mr. Jonathan a little surprised at the widespread triggering of your inquiry here. I say go for it, I’d like to follow the pros/cons after somebody has had vertical doors installed for while. As far as attracting attention being a con-this point is brought to you by a community currently running a small nation’s GDP equivalent in Chinese carbon fiber parts and obscene exhaust setups, so I guess I’m having trouble establishing where the “shall not cross” line into ricer territory currently resides ?. I am among those running obscene exhaust and am building my Chinese CF collection. No hate here, just struggle with the status quo being more volatile than my wife’s world of home interior design.

I feel you on all points (so to speak). For whatever reason, when I hit the start button, my Supra revs to 2500-3000 rpm w/a full turbo back exhaust system not sure if that coded or normal). I get attention no matter what I do. To boot, I’m just now leaving a kitchen remodel store to return 8 tile backsplash samples which a point each one was “the one”…bless my better half’s sole, I’m in the clear as long as I agree.

? if you can keep your dignity through a kitchen remodel, then outside opinions regarding your Supra mods are essentially child’s play.

There will of course be a mandatory minimum of 3 (insert car you currently drive) aficionados at every cars n coffee for the rest of your life waiting to absolutely drag your ass through the mud over ANYTHING you have done to the car. This thread seems to be an extension of that universal and accepted truth. Good luck on both projects!

Boo hoo people have opinions.
Welcome to the Internet where none of them should be taken *too* serious.

That pretty much sums up what I was saying…or trying to. Just trying to bring a little humor here, sometimes it gets a lil raw

Humor is definitely in short supply. In another thread I joked and asked how someone fit their golf bag in the Supra…I got a breakdown as to how it was done… who knows may have been easier with vertical doors

I don't hate the idea near as much as I thought I would, especially since I'm only 5' 8" and have to sit even closer to the dash in the MT (drive one and you'll understand) than I did in the 2021 AT, so opening the door next to anything is even tougher than it used to be. However, I think many of us also use the door as a leverage support to lift ourselves out of the seat, so if that was taken away, we might be back at square one as far as overall egress difficulty.

Interesting concept, and I'd like a close-up video of the workings of the hinge brackets and lift strut. All of these far away exterior shots are USELESS!!!

We’re talking about men’s cars here, so the sensitivity dial is typically cranked to 11 for everybody haha. I think forums where we talked about each others wives and girlfriends would yield less “ass hurtedness” overall. But nothing stings deeper than the Oriellys Autoparts guy calling me out for the fake vents on my BMW ?. Been 3 weeks and I’m still stung from it.

I think it's cute that here we are, three years later, and people still say, "Nice BMW!".
I lol the first couple of years. But now it just shows the lack of creativity

With my 2021, to restarting a hot engine in Sport Mode, after refueling, I once shouted to the other customers at a crowded gas station, "the following noise IS NOT ME, my car does this on its own!"

100% true story.

Not going to lie, I've given a "shamed waive" to folks in parking lots few times. Not sure why other than to say if I'm going to be "that guy", I like to choose when...
