Not sure if anyone has discussed Pros and Cons of installing vertical doors on their MKV (couldn't find the thread). I'm interested in the this mod, both for looks and tired of stressing over opening the door into another object. Its not easy getting in and out of the supra without the door open all the way. Whether vertical doors will make it easier remains to be seen..? A quick google search of the product led me to the following website.

https://verticaldoors.com/products/toyota-supra-2019-2022-vertical-doors

Before I move forward with purchase/install (w/in the next 6 months), I'm interested in opinions and/or experiences of folks. Mainly centered around the following:

What product did you purchase/install?
Was wielding required for install?
Did you need to extend the electrical wiring?
Did this mod create yet a another rattling or a sealing issue?

Most coupes suffer from requiring more space for the doors to open.

My knowledge of that brand is that they are typically bolt on.

Weight is one con. Potentially negative attention is also another con.

The Supra already gets enough attention. No need for this

Yeah, don't do it. Please don't. For all that is holy.

Vertical doors remind me of ricors from the late 90's and 2000's..

I couldn't image my tall ass getting into this car with vertical doors. My head would be like a pinball.

All good points. My aim isnt to grab attention or change the look of the car. I just see vertical doors as more practical. Not sure why that feature isn’t more common from the manufacturers. It’s not like it’s an engineering feat (maybe safety/crash ratings neg affected) As for the 90s ricors mentioned. There are ton of threads/post about body kits, CF this, CF that, wraps, badges, etc…. Just saying, sounds like ricor speak/mods to me… however, never thought of a Supra in that category even in the 90s

I can't think how those doors would end up helping. And now you have aftermarket reliability on a part you use any time you drive the car.
I have two cars with long doors. They are a pain, but no way would I consider an alternative opening system.
