Unfortunately this happens to me 100% of the time. Doesn’t matter if I’m starting in Normal (which I only do) or Sport. Think it’s because I have an AWE so no valve. Wish I could turn this shit off.

I've always modified all of my cars from the dual positions of "does it make me happy?", and "fuck it, why not?", so this is directly in my wheelhouse! I've had these stupid, ignorant devices installed for approx. six months and I absolutely love them, however they make actual operation of the car more inconvenient in basically 99.6% of situations in my experience. The doors are heavy, the install is dreadful (but reversible, no permanent modification required aside from reducing the washer reservoir size), and you have to brief everyone who enters the car on how to open them ad nauseum. Another point that's entirely subjective, but if the car is completely stock aside from the doors it may look (even more) out of place than it does on mine which is something to consider.

Praise the lord! A comment from someone who has vertical doors! Thank you for the advice. I’m shy’ing away as of now due to the points you make about having a stock look currently and having to brief passengers LOL. I’m not at the point of adding “37 pieces of flare” to my ride (even though it does look good). That's exactly what I did. Wheels + lowering + some aesthetic bits here and there will completely change the car and not entirely break the bank. The doors can be reserved for when you've completely lost any semblance of reality like I have LOL

Putting butterfly doors on any car that doesn’t come with them is like wearing hammer pants today. People will look at you and most will think you look stupid. If your fine with the majority shaking their heads at you go for the mod and wear the hammer pants. You should always mod your car for your likes, but it definitely won’t be as reliable as an OEM set of doors and it won’t make the roofline higher or the wide door jams any thinner. If you’re just doing to get in and out of the car easier I don’t think it’s a win. It’s up to you if you think the cons are worth being able to feel like the door is fully open which still doesn’t remove the obstacles of getting in and out of the Supra.

Sorry to resurrect this ancient thread but I just need y'all to know I'm absolutely fucking howling at this picture of the 2.0 butterfly door gigachad. Holy hell this is getting framed. I always like to edge myself a bit more when I find posts like these by wondering, how many takes did he need? did he setup a tripod and have to walk back over to the thing to check if the last pic was good? Did he bring different outfits? God damn
