Congrats! How did you check the ECU date? I need to check mine
You can start by checking the driver’s door jam. If the car was built before 6/20 then obviously the ECU was too so you can stop looking. If not, you’ll have to pull the ECU to look at the sticker on the side of it (there are plenty of how-to videos online, it takes about 5 min).

Ah ok, mine was built 7/20 but I’ve heard of people with 7/20 getting lucky… I’ll look it up.

thank you!

My car was built 3/20 and the ECU was from 2/20, so I think there’s a decent chance yours is tunable. Definitely worth pulling the ECU to check.

I bought her! Lol. Well, technically yesterday. Just finished the 14.5 hour drive home. First thing I did when getting home was check the ECU date. 5-25-20…does this mean I made the cutoff to be able to tune? Can’t wait to get started!
wow congrats on the ?

Switched from old tow hook mount to sto n' sho mount. I like the centered look a lot better, and has quick release so easy to put on and off. Might just keep the plate detached in the back, and only put it on when doing longer drives with more freeway.

My only concern is if I accidently touch a curb stop, its going to be even worse since this loses about 1/2 inch of clearance. However, I already have to try to be careful anyways even without it, so not really too big of a deal.
As a follow-up, Sto N Sho once again saves the day.

So if you have a tuneable 21, do you have to send it out to get tuned?
it’ll need a bench unlock then it’ll be tuneable. Tuners should have the capability to bench unlock then custom tune.

You have a few options, go to a local tune shop and they can bench unlock and then a custom or off the shelf tune.

If there are no shops in your area you can have a tune shop remote in via laptop and wifi and the can unlock and tune that way.

Also, some shops offer a service to send in your ECU. This NOT recommended as Fedex and UPS have lost peoples ECUs. Then your left with a $60K door stop. ?

It needs a bench unlock, like late model 2020s do, but if you don't want to ship the ECU out to get unlocked you can get it remote unlocked where the tuner sends you the necessary equipment and remotes into your computer to do it (that's what I did).

Did you love tap it with the sto n sho?? I'd imagine having that happen is still pretty bad due to the pressure / torque put on the splitter from the bolt. Although still way better than scraping up / cracking the splitter itself.

I often find myself stopping hilarious far from the parking curb, like 3 feet sometimes. The car isn't that long though so its usually fine where I live as most parking spots are decent sized. I still stick out of the spot way less than the giant ass Tundra or Suburban parked next to me.

No tap. I have tapped my aluminum garage door (long story). No issues at all. Can't say the same for my garage door with 2 little dimples about 6in from the ground.
