Holy fuck. Thats close. your region must have a really lax safety steward. The regions I've visited would not pass that.
You’re not a fan of head on collisions at speed? Pffft yall act like you want to live forever or something.

?. Not forever but I’d like a few more years at least. Seriously though, I may have autocrossed longer than some of our members have been alive. In all those years I’ve seen, and in one case, been responsible for a number of on course incidents. You would be amazed how far a car will go once control is lost. And it’s also not that difficult to lose it at an autocross even when you think you are going straight. There is no way in hell the safety stewards in my home region allow that course. It would probably violate like 10 SCCA course design rules…

I get it. Here is some info:
We are not SCCA affiliated and are a private club. There are both SCCA members and non members in our group and several are SCCA instructors and safety stewards. We have run for over 60 years with no serious incidents. The layout was discussed extensively and ultimately approved by our board.

We are space and venue limited. We make the most of what we have and are often forced to make course changes in the name of safety and in this case it was deemed acceptable.

Ultimately any every individual driver can decide to run or not run. Nobody was pressured and if anyone chose to not run because they felt unsafe we’d refund entry fees.

We separate novices from experienced drivers and we do our best to not have overlap but it sometimes happens. We are judicious with the use of red flags if cars are deemed to be in conflict for space or too close on course.

Bottom line- I’ve driven two lane mountain roads full of curves and felt more unsafe due to opposing drivers not knowing their limits and crossing yellow lines than on this course.

No offense intended! Not being SCCA makes a big difference. I also ran with a private group at one time. We actually ran on a private mini-road course built on a rather well to do members property. It was actually in the woods? and off course incidents typically involved trees. There were a few of us (not me fortunately) that met some of those trees. I still can’t believe we didn’t have more serious accidents and that we actually ran that course. That was the young (and less “experienced” AKA dumb) me. If that group still ran today I’d pass on it.

Looks Great! It’s probably the top pic where the rails look like a handicap lift (no offense, just sayin). Cut that part out and/or just the bottom pic, lookin good my man!!
Appreciate it. Yeah I’m definitely sitting higher than I’d like which is likely due to the slider rails. But it’s a trade off I’m willing to deal with so I can have the adjustability.

Had to move the seat down 1 setting for the front and rear cause the top of my helmet was rubbing on the roof. Looking forward to putting this thing to use at my next track day.:drive:

necessarily wiser. ?

I don’t get to stretch the car’ legs very often. This is the best I’ve got right now. Transitioning soon to track days…
