Would highly recommend Greenville. It's like sports car heaven around here. Huge BMW car club of America presence, M driving school, and Road Atlanta only 1.5 hours away. Shoot an hour north and Blue Ridge Parkway, lots of cool mountain roads.
Sorry :offtopic: @carmigo but sounds like a great place to own a Supra!

Greenville is probably the cleanest city we’ve ever seen. South Ft. Myers/Naples is mega clean too, so we’re into that. Absolutely love ❤ the Blue Ridge Mountains, friendly people, feeling safe, being active… def checks tons of boxes for us for sure. Knoxville and Chattanooga TN is also high up on our list. I’ve driven Road Atlanta and love that track! Great info. Appreciate the feedback from someone who actually lives there ?

I think they did an amazing job! First to 2nd gear was super touchy at first but everything just feels right and is a blast.
That's great to hear. Hoping manual drivers get even more options soon.

Me and my big mouth... I said to my buddies one night at Starbucks two years that if ever Toyota makes the Supra with a manual transmission then I would go get one.... TA-DAH!!!

I just adore the looks of the car from every single bloody angle, I'm very aesthetic driven admittedly, I enjoy washing and drying every inch of the bodywork and admiring the craftsmanship.
And I also really wanted a 6 cilinder engine and did extensive research on the B58 engine's reliability and it checked out. I was originally going to get a GR86, but then said fu*k it, I'm gonna be in debt anyway might as well get what I really want and not regret it everytime I start up the 4 banger.

It also happens to be the mrs favorite car so when I ordered it sort of secretly it made her very happy too, she saw one at the Japfest and fell in love.

It is a dream car and taking it out always feels special, it often seems to make other people's day even if it just means a head turn, a smile, thumbs up or child pointing at it. It feels like owning a supercar a little bit.

It's also the only reason I put up with the absurdity and depression of a boring corporate 9to5 job every day ...

I live in NH where we get many feet of snow. Had a beautiful Focus RS that was a monster in the snow. Drove the Supra when a dealer had a used one ‘for fun’. Wow. I had to have it and trade in on the RS was fantastic on the time. It just drives so great. I love the small cabin. Low seat. And the white in person is jaw dropping . Absolutely zero supras around me. I’m in love.

The daily: got a Mazda 3 4-door since it was the car that many of the editors at Edmunds (back in 2011) were actually driving. Car drives brilliantly and the electro-hydraulic steering rack still blows my mind and handles like a dream. In hindsight I would have liked a MazdaSpeed3 even more, but didn't really cross my mind. The Supra: Stumbled onto it, honestly. I was going to shop a used Cayman S, and M2 competition, but the test drive for both didn't go well. Learned could get a new Supra for less money than either the 718 or M2 comp (both were used), wife digs the styling, and rest is history.
You made a good decision going with the 3 rather than the Speed3. The torque steer on my Speed3 would rip the steering wheel out of my hands, and the suspension was really stiff. I was coming from a GTI, and there was such a big difference in sophistication between the two that I couldn’t get used to it. I went with a Focus ST next, and that was a terrific car. I think it had a Gertrag transmission, and it was awesome.

I chose the car because I saw it in person and it was beautiful. We were driving to my parents house in Vegas, and we saw it on the road for the first time. I had to drive next to it and eventually it turned off and I told my wife, I think I need that. Haha

You asked so I’ll give you the long story long.

I remember when the Toyota FRS first came out in 2011-2012, I had the first preorder at my local dealer. My fiancé went with me to test drive it and it was an immediate no from her since it didn’t have a back seat for car seats, the last thing on my mind in my early 20s, but went along with it and backed out. Even then the rumors of a BMW and Toyota Supra were in the works and I made a mental note to check on that over the next 8 years. In the mean time I was staying busy with an old E30 325is, tried to go Porsche, in fact I found probably the most depreciated Porsche 964 C2 in the country that wasn’t a pile of shit and road worthy for 12K…but again the wife said no since it didn’t have a back seat. So played along again and eventually got me a real M car, E28 M5 that I thought would make up for the pit falls of the E30, which did as far as power, but was a heavy car and was no where near as toss-able as the E30. I went even heavier with an E24 M6 coupe, the shark as they call it which was terrible in the handling department. We finally had those kids my wife was planning for for the last decade and sold all by cars. Finally the Supra was about to come out and I was in love with the size, like a modern day Porsche 964 size wise which I lusted for for so long. I was first on the list at my dealer for a launch edition and despite my wife’s input on it not having back seats for car seats I bought it anyways. I was in love, as toss-able as my old little E30 but with the big power I always wanted like in the Porsches. I ended up getting rid of that because my 3rd child was on the way and ya know the whole back seat thing. Eventually the manual came out I said hell with these kids I’m getting what I really want and pissed everyone off on pulling the trigger on the A91 MT. No regrets, I’m not getting rid of this and I’ve already taken it to the track and want to be one of those track rats. Living my best life finally. Fuck them kids.
