The Supra is one very potent bargain. If you want what you describe get a Super Charged Elise or Exige. Thats about as close as one can get but they are not produced any longer.
Don’t know what they’re priced over there ?? But here in the US nothing is even close performance wise. I feel like I got a BMW with a hard top and she’s lighter than the Z4 I was considering to buy.

Something about a great bang for the buck sports car that gets me thinking I’m 18 again. If and when the car gods decide to do something like this again (or say S2000, Mazda RX8), then my wife and I start getting that car itch we feel needs scratching ?

No new Supras being sold in the Uk since last year, but 3.0 models on 2023 plates are going for around 45k. Similar aged Jaguar F types v8 supercharged are now dropping below the 50k barrier which offer a lot bang for bucks too I would say.

Supra is more agile track focused and the Jag a heavier GT. But damnnnn that’s beautiful ?!!

I've always loved the F-Type, but I've also been apprehensive about Jag's reliability.

Me too. I certainly wouldn’t track one. That’s where this Toyota/BMW fits the bill. Reliability on track is harder to come by than most people think.

I cannot believe how ugly and fat the M2 is...even went and drove one. The M3 is more appealing visually and with the S58 + tune, seems having Xdrive would be a good idea. All that said, it would be hard to move to the big/ugly M cars from the Supra. Not much else like it right now, unless you want a used Porsche.

I'll throw another one into the mix then if your after a lighter car, how about the Alpine 110 Turbo GT only a year old, less than 50k, 300ps, lightweight, great car reviews, 2 seats and good for the track too.

And a few months ago, added an Ioniq 5 N to the stable.....

I like the Corvette, never seen one in the UK tho. The Hyundai gets rave reviews over here for an electric car, my practical car is a Cupra Formentor VZ2

, not sure if they have them in the US? similar performance to the Supra but 4 wheel drive and so practical. Have the best of both worlds with the Supra and Formentor

Sorry To wake this thread up from a year long slumber but im actually in the position to try something new and I've struggled quite a lot. I love my Supra but i need an extra 2 seats really and cant afford to have two cars simultaneously right now. Id also like a manual for some lower speed engagement! After almost 6 months of deliberating im hovering over the buy button on a Civic Type R (FL5). Am i insane? second hand you can pick one up for £40k so would save me a little too.

Why not an M340i?

I picked up an RS3 a couple months ago. Was also looking for 4seats/doors, something my wife would be willing to take trips in with me (and the dog), but still a fun autocrosser. Autocross season doesn’t start for a few months but so far this car is a blast. Quattro AWD launches are hilarious and these cars will run low 11s with just a JB4 and E30. I choose every option including the carbon ceramic brakes which makes the car around $15-18,000 more than a similar Supra but it seems worth it so far. The interior is on a different level. And did I mention those AWD launches…😱
