I'm installing a pair of Hella Supertones, but due to the increase in power draw, I'd like to run them off of a relay.

Should I run a wire from the positive terminal in the engine bay?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Curious about this too since I've been toying with adding a front-mounted wifi camera for parking.

From battery-in-the-back BMW forums, it sounds like the red terminal in the rear/passenger section of the engine bay might be the best place. I think there's a distribution box around there. I'm going to explore this weekend.

I'm just responding to wrap this up. The terminal I mentioned is a great place to tap power. Use a ring terminal and attach it to one of the posts. Wrench size is 13mm. Just note that despite the color of the wires, they are all positive. Most of the body is ground/negative, so just use a multimeter to confirm.
