I take a trip to the dragon every year (now every other) with an enthusiast group.

I'm about 7 hours away so definitely down to go. I know the weekend is appealing, but going through the week is always a great option. Let's people get in Saturday and Sunday and plan on everything really starting on Monday. There tend to be less cops out during the week than on weekends.

There's great road around the dragon too (fontana dam, devil's triangle, skyway, etc). Plenty of great places to get some group shots too.

I would be coming for Pennsylvania. Would the drive be southbound?
From PA the drive is pretty easy. Depending on what part of PA you get to avoid doing the speed limit through Virginia. I've made that drive before and have friends from NJ that do the same.

Still a nice drive, especially when you got Tennessee because it gets so green by the dragon so early in comparison.

I've done 14hrs on the PCH, my back/ ass almost filed for divorce with my body.
It looks like you'd have some nice places to stop along the way though. If I'm reading the map correctly, you'll wind up going through the Ozarks in Arkansas. Should be a nice ride there.

Plus Dallas is cool. I'm sure with that direction of travel you'll easily be able to meet up with other supras along the way.

This is not what I am hoping for as I need to drive 12 hours to CES in a few weeks. Any tips to ease the drive?

Duuude ... that's 31 hours at the speed limit. We know you won't be doing that!
