So the manual conversion has been done on the MkV Supra.
But what about a Awd conversion for better traction?

There are Bmw Xdrive parts you probably can use as the Mkv is basically a Bmw underneath the body.

Newer Bmw M cars also has an option to swich between Awd and Rwd in the menu system. Which can also be done on other Bmw’s with a XHP Xdelete tune for the best of both worlds.

So what do you guys think would it be cool to do a Awd conversion?

i feel this would be counterintuitive considering how easy it is to launch these cars.

Yes on a prepped dragstrip with dragtires they hook up good but on the street its a diffrent story even with dragtires.
This is of course depending how much power the car is making.

But thanks for your input.

No thanks, it will add too much weight to the car and more shit to break. Just get wider tires if you believe traction is an issue.

You can hook on the street too. Of course you're now going to cut a 1.2sec 60 on the street, but i do 1.8s on cold tires.

anyway, aside from really not needing AWD, you're adding weight to the car which is one of the supras advantages. Then killing top end due to drivetrain weight. The cost to benefit ratio is lopsided imo for an AWD conversion. but if you're doing it for the sake of doing it, by all means. i wouldn't not be interested in seeing it in action.

You'd need a whole lot of driveline parts to replace. Mech diff or e? if e, then you'll need ECU stuff. what's the benefit anyhow? Just launch advantage? or you want to drive in snow without any fun and want all power on FWD?
At that point, I applaud all the enthusiastic mechanically inclined shops and individuals, but I'd get a different car :D
If it came with the car like the new M5's or something, I'd welcome it, it's good option to have for safe driving..

It would probably not be easy to do but some guys/shops do some crazy stuff with their cars so i think its doable.

The awd traction advantage is not only in the launch its in higher rolling speeds too and out of turns especially in higher powered cars.

Just to be clear i dont own a Supra and dont plan on doing this conversion.
Im just curiously follow whats being done to these cars and trowing this idea out there for someone willing to do it.?
