I voted for the auto, believing it will be the ZF8.

Its actually a great gearbox, and from what i know the torque converter is only used for 1 and 2. gear.
After that it can lock the converter, and if programmed correctly is just as fast as a DCT.

I like the DCT on my Evo X, but slow driving/traffic is certainly not optimal...

I've always wanted an S15, so I could see going for an I4 turbo 6spd.
This is what the gt86 community wanted so bad. This would be a great option too but I couldn't downgrade from my current I6TT for a I4T. I'd want another I6.

same here, and i also feel you on the traffic part. for me Houston ranks 11th for worst traffic in the US.

at least we didn't pick any form of the 4 banger. :p

I would have preordered the car had it been 4cyl turbo or even an outdated 250hp V6 lol... Alas, I guess what I really wanted was a RWD Celica.

I am having exactly the same thoughts , you are in my mind about those cars , both the s15 and the 86 or rwd celica.

Hi everyone!

From what I've collected from all over the interwebz and some of my own predictions (in bold in case you don't trust me):
It'll be running a turbocharger (two of them, maybe, from the bhp numbers) on an inline-6 interlaced with a hybrid KERS system.
Pump about 410 bhp and 400 lb-ft of torque (estimated from Toyota's other V-6's)
Cost $45-50k at base price, with options pushing that over $60k (if I know Toyota correctly lol)
Front-engine, RWD drivetrain setup.
Paddle shifters and 7 gears on a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Have a medium-sized active rear wing.
Wear a front end more rounded than the FT-1 concept's (homage to the MKIV).
Have a good amount of weight-saving, so expect carbon fibre and Alcantara.
Maybe a targa top? Unlikely, though.

This is an expensive modern Toyota, so there's a touchscreen, blind spot monitoring, an HUD, and a backup camera.
Nifty touches like a display on the top of the steering wheel that shows what gear you're in.
A voice control system co-developed with Amazon Alexa. (This is true, but not sure if will be on the Supra.)

I really hope all of these are optional. Especially the Alexa stuff. Otherwise it'll be a bunch of modding to get rid of them.
What I hope for more than a no-infotainment option, is a regular instrument panel. Physical gauges are so much better for readability than screens, especially in evening sun glare or bright daylight. As I'm in Switzerland, it'd be basically illegal to replace a screen with something sensible, unless you pay out of your ass to get it homologated for street use.
Also, manual only for me, if there isn't one, it's a certain no-buy.
And cloth seats, maybe some nice recaro style seats, that'd be my wish.

Hmm What AM I driving?
I really feel like the title of this thread just describe the whole forum.

Honestly I be pretty ecstatic to see smart phone support from Android Auto and Carplay

an HUD would be kinda cool and the safety tech stuff that's not usually standard in all Toyota like the 360 Camera

I hope the screen is also flushed and nicely designed in the dash, I hate those tacky looking I tapped an IPAD on the dash thing. Make it nice and flushed like most Lexus... I know it stick up in the RX and UX and some others, I like it flushed like an LC.

wouldn't mind some luxury stuff it's a GT after all , I mean if they had a race trim and a luxury trim that be nice so that doesn't upset the hardcore, Heated steering wheel vented/heated seats etc.

Targa/convertible would be amazing. I don't want the Z4 lol

....hmm I feel like I'm describing a Lexus maybe this isn't for me hoepfully the next RC isn't so fat.

Hi everyone!

From what I've collected from all over the interwebz and some of my own predictions (in bold in case you don't trust me):
It'll be running forced induction (1 or 2 turbos) on a 6-cylinder (maybe an inline-6, but probably not) interlaced with a KERS system.
Pump about 400 bhp and 390 lb-ft of torque (estimated from Toyota's other V-6's)
Cost $45-50k at base price, with options pushing that over $60k (if I know Toyota correctly lol)
Front-engine, RWD drivetrain setup.
Paddle shifters and 7 gears on a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

is this some sort of wishlist..? otherwise you'll be very disappointed lol. As A70 said, what is coming shouldn't be a surprise at this point...we've already hashed out the motor & trans probabilities, certainly isn't a V6 or DCT..

I just realized something, the Lexus LC500 and MkV Supra rear ends look suprisingly similar...
