Why such a fast turn around on the Supra? Getting a tunable version?

Mines fully unlocked from Visconti and tuned via ecutek by soho motorsports . I have a kid on the way so need a back seat. Especially after seeing they might have a 3jz version coming and possibly manuals . Can’t forget about the new Z either more HP and available in manual for thousands less . This Supra market is going to be in a weird spot I believe. Figured I’d lose less on trading it in then letting it sit stored away and then depreciate like crazy

The 3jz post was April fools iirc. The z will be a nice performance hang for buck, but going to be chinsey inside with a super ugly front end. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll be cool for the same reasons as a mustang gt, but also uncool for the same reasons as a mustang gt. 400 crank hp isn’t 400whp either.

Lol there's no 3jz coming. The price on the Z hasn't been released yet, it definitely does not have more horsepower as a 21 is well over 400 crank. Not to mention it'll be a lot less quality. It'll cost less, you'll also get less. You get a 15 year old car, with an engine swap.

Then why are so many shops selling their Supra’s in prep for the new Z ? I spoke with a reputable shop who was at the z unveiling and they said they were going to be around 35k for the barebones Z . TT and manual

Yea read that about the April fools guess it’s hard to detect tone in text post haha but just too much uncertainty in Supra market to store it away and hope the bottom doesn’t fall out from under it . Rather get the premium price on a trade now and save the taxes on the new car . Especially with this oil consumption issues coming along with the 21s . It was fun while it lasted might buy another in a couple years but moving to a cpo s550 4matic amg pkg for my upcoming kid .

Because it's the latest thing. Just moving on to the next fad. Just like all the Youtubers. Nothing new. Same will happen to the Z when the next thing comes around. And the next.

Makes sense , yea I can’t remember the last car I kept longer then 1 year to be honest . I think it was 2016 I bought a brand new rcf had it for 2 years ,I think that was probably the longest since maybe like 05 when I got the e46 m3

Yeah I'm the same way. But, I'm enjoying the Supra a lot more than I thought. Gonna be a hard goodbye when that day comes.

100% agree , I was loving mine as well . Just having a Kid coming made me decide to part ways . It for sure was an awesome car that grew on me every time I drove it
