Man.. This can be a bit annoying and hasn't always been the case. So I recently put on some BC Forged rims. Specs are as follow
19 X 9.5 +22 mle81 in the Front

19 x 11.0 +35 in the rears

Tires Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 275/19/30 Front
305/19/30 Rear

Anytime I mash on the throttle the car tends to go to the left rather harshly. I don't understand why as I don't recall it doing that with the stock wheels. I recently dropped my car and got an alignment to no avail. Traction control stays on. Is this just the nature of the Supras?

First RWD performance car? when you have a lot of torque, the car starts sidestepping. It's normal.

Yes, my first RWD. I was a honda boy lol I'm glad to know that it's normal. Should be gradually stepping on the gas? instead of mashing it right? That's what seems to help.

Yup. Just roll onto the throttle. Peak torque starts at a low RPM so you get a lot of power early on and as it overwhelms the tires, the diff locks, and the ass starts hanging out. Easiest way to avoid it is driving light footed. But it's a lot of fun to play with it. The car is very predictable and easy to control. The Supra has excellent balance. It'll become 2nd nature to catch it's little slides with some counter steer.

I have the exact same combo and do notice a little shiftiness on the street. I have never had this issue at the dragstrip or when I run drag radials and it goes completely straight.

I've read it might have something to do with running such a wide rear tire, but I havent switched back to stocks to see if its still twitchy.

Mine shifts to the left and to the right and I love it. ?

Traction is a real problem once you start modding these cars. Wider tires will help for sure.

Just to clarify, are you saying the front end pulls to the left or the backend feels like it's stepping out (which would be completely normal in a RWD car with this much power being put down)?

both are happening. Not simultaneously though. At times the back wants to give out it seems. I've gotten use to it and just keep going. If I accelerate some left steering happens. I have Lane control or whatever you call off. I think when I had it on it didn't do this as much. Tire pressure is at 37/38. May bring it up to 40.

My rear steps out if I turn TCS off (one button push) doing a pull from dead stop or low gear. Doing data logs in 4th/5th I hook fine on stock tire setup.

I’ve kept TCS on ever since or until I get a new tire setup in the rear. TCS definitely flickers when the wheels start spinning but it keeps me planted lol.

The back stepping out under power is totally normal, especially with the VSC turned off. Good point about lane control - I have it off as well after I experienced it doing some strange and dangerous things driving over crosswalks with short lines that were parallel with the car. One thing to check is that even with lane control off, the car will still vibrate the steering wheel in a very odd way when it detects you are drifting over a line. It is a separate option that should be disabled if you don't want this feature and may be what you're feeling. That being said, the front end pulling in one direction under power is a very odd thing, IMO, in this car. Typically you would feel something like this in a powerful FWD car - it's called torque steer, and is the result of the drive wheels being the same as the wheels used to steer the car. I would recommend taking it to a dealer and telling them what you're feeling. It's not normal.

Your new rear tire is 26.2 tall comparing to the stock at 26.85 with that and the high tire pressure over 32 expect less traction and more sideways.

What suspension are you running? Our soft oem suspension doesn’t help either... I just ordered KW V3 coilovers, which I got feedback from some members who have it installed already and they say it helps a lot of the side stepping

I have the KW V3. They're super nice and I think it did help.

Thanks for the input. It makes a bit of sense. Wondering of a proper, high level alignment would help.

The thing is inconsistent. At times I mash on the gas and it goes straight. I'm starting to think it has to do with the road and tires. Either way, I've gotten better at managing, I just want to restore the trust and confidence I had when it was on stock tires.
