That's why he got the job to begin with. They didn't want another Rosberg scenario where drivers were ramming each other off.
I get that...but at this point he's not a whole lot of help to the team in general...running mid pack does nothing for the team game...

The team put him there when they sacrificed his qualifying for Hamilton's. And he'd have finished 2nd in Monaco if the team didn't fuck him at his pit stop.

Unfortunately it goes further then those 2 races...
He's had a lot of opportunities to finish high in the points or to even win races...he makes a lot of mistakes...
Yes I agree the team puts Hamilton first most times but it's Bottas' job to match or beat him...signing the contract with Mercedes Bottas had to have known he was #2 driver n he'd have to work just a little harder and overcome certain situations...

How do you see a welded wheel nut as the team screwing him over?
He has had alot of bad luck but I think he gets in he own head...

I see it as it's all or nothing with Bottas...either leading or mid pack..
Like I said I was rooting for him to do well it just hasn't panned out....IMO...

I'm not a Verstappen fan but he overcomes alot of shortcomings of his car and usually does pretty well, why...because he puts his head down and gets the job done...
Bottas just doesn't do that..

It looks like we will disagree on Bottas but I do wish he would step up...

1 last thing...
The team didn't put him anywhere...all weekend he was running mid pack..obviously I don't know what the qualifying outcome would've been if he wasn't sent out first to give the tow but according to all the practice sessions, imo it wouldn't have made a huge difference in his qualifying performance...

Just speculation but if he’s aware that Mercedes isn’t going to re-sign him maybe he’s tanking to give Red Bull the constructors championship? Don’t know, just saying…

They were both running mid pack all weekend, until qualifying. The difference was Hamilton getting a tow, and Bottas didn't.

I doubt it. No team would sign him if that ever came to light. And I'm pretty sure if Hamilton signs a new contract, he'll want Bottas next to him. Because he knows he's easily beat, and a doormat. And the last thing Hamilton wants is a driver like Verstappen or Norris next to him. Maybe even Russell. Although I think he's overhyped too.

I personally would love to see Norris in a Mercedes...I think he's a good driver...
I agree I think Russell maybe a little overhyped...good driver none the less...

I doubt any team will sign Bottas
(if Mercedes doesn't resign him)regardless...he's just to inconstant..
IMO of coarse ?

Yeah Norris is fantastic. He's driving that McLaren higher than it should be. I rate him 2nd on the grid after Verstappen. I think both of them would beat Hamilton in equal cars. Hamilton/Norris would go either way in a given weekend, Hamilton/Verstappen would just be an epic beating in Verstappen's favor.

I'd give hat off to Jonathan from Red Bull & Masi to bring Red Flag instead of finishing in yellow flag to give spice to the race as well as safety factor. Congrats to Gasley for another podium.

As for Bottas, he did have some off weekend this round. I do agree that he needs to be a bit more aggressive on over taking but even Hamilton had hard time over taking Perez so clearly Merc did not have best car this weekend and to compound that, he had slower wing for more stability. He is not having bad season in terms of his driving, I think. He was close to top on other races but not having luck on producing results. he could've won the monaco if it wasn't for lug nut, for example. but as I stated, he needs to be a bit more aggressive on overtake. then again.. he is a rally driver which doesn't involve overtake on most of the league..

I'll give you the REAL reason Bottas had a different wing... It wasn't for stability. The wing had more profile so what does that do? Disperse more air. Who benefits from that? The car behind you. Who was that again in qualifying? ?

Exactly. They intentionally made Bottas' car slower so Hamilton had a better tow. That's why Hamilton went from 10th on the grid, to 3rd. And that's why Bottas couldn't pass anyone during the race.
